If you're going to necro old and empty threads, make sure the topic is worth discussing or particularly funny.

Of course I don't want to be obnoxious, but these are threads which expected an answer, and I'm giving my take at least so that it has one, it's not like I'm necroing threads with lots of already written opinions and being redundant on purpose.

And sometimes what I have to add only goes so far, because that's what the topic allows.
