Social media in particular is responsible for this. I know especially for indians at least, even when they come here and realise the immigration consultants and influencers lied to them, they don't want to loose izzat and admit they got tricked, so instead they continue the cycle and post about how great canada is, encouraging others to come. The same thing happens in places like saudi arabia, where all the migrant workers literally will not admit that their arab employers are ripping/abusing them off, because saying that they are being taken advantage of makes them look foolish.

Wouldn't be surprising if they're doing so, and not because of politics. Imperial isn't selling Norman Wells, they'll still retain ownership, bear responsibility to the location, and also must handle the planned reclamation work; keeping equipment repaired and ready ensures any issues can be quickly handled.

I seriously doubt they will ever restart production given its limited output (4-6k bbl/day) makes extraction far too expensive for the potential profit. For reference Kearl (Imperial's main site) produces ~300k bbl/day with lower operating costs per barrel, and that's oil sands.

Also FYI Norman Wells is in the Northwest Territories, it's unaffected by anything Alberta does. You can be as bad as Stud sometimes when it comes to reading comprehension.
 
The Alberta government launched a website to detail the questions that will be in the October referendum and the context surrounding them.
The Seperation question is still pending legal review. Literally the second time it got a judicial review, the first one delayed the start of the petition. They're going to fight it every step of the way.

-Defending Carney's government being the first case of a majority that was 'won' solely through floor crossing in all of Canadian history by qouting practically every single boomer talking point verbatim for Carney (I look at where he's going & who he's meeting with/he's signed so many trade deals/he's done more than any other premier in my lifetime/etcetc) as why it was justified
-Said none of Carney's ludicrous spending so far is in any way a comparable situation to the $16 orange juice controversy
-Blamed BC's credit rating downgrade on the previous Conservative government (she also was convinced Eby was a Lib until I pulled up his party affiliation & she of course immediately tried to spin it off)
-Defended the ridiculous amount of spending we've done towards Ukraine, the promise of ground troops, & recent massive purchase of vehicles because 'you didn't grow up when Russia was actually a threat so you don't understand'
-Blamed our record youth unemployment on how 'none of them want to work' so we actually do need more mass immigration, & the classic rebutal of "if you don't have an immediate solution why are you second guessing the guberment", et al
-Blamed the Tumblr Ridge shooting & failure of the RCMP to do their job properly beflre that degenerate fuck went off the rails despite the 60 prior house calls, solely as the fault of conservative 'muh gun' politicians

They believe their own bullshit. They almost exclusively consume slop American news media without the moderating influence of living in the US. They live in all white communities and have pensions and are divorced from anything and everything else going on in the country. Their only political positions are to hate the US when a Republican is President and vote Liberal to spite said Republican. Also they will vote to ensure that their healthcare isn't touched. No matter how shit Canadian healthcare is, and it is shit they will stamp their feet and scream if you suggest any changes because that is American to them.

If something is not on mainstream news media, then it does not exist to them. It is fucking wild. They will ignore the evidence of their eyes in favour of the man on the tv. There is a reason that the Canadian electorate is considered the least informed and least engaged in the western world and it is the Canadian Boomer.

I think someone here mentioned it before, but Canada having an educated population is misleading. Sure we technically do, but all the most educated people leave Canada eventually. I knew a guy whos, without exaggeration, ENTIRE UNI CLASS left for either Amerikkka or somewhere in Europe. So literal midwits stay here.

Haven't bought Orange juice in over a year. Can't justify the insane prices.

Also coincidently the same time they decided to axe the frozen concentrate juices (which was the affordable option for our parents and grandparents generations)

You can tell it was originally meant for the US market because it's desert colored. Canada doesn't have deserts or fight in the Middle East where FDE is useful. It also has Magpul (Austin) furniture and a Strategic Sciences (Salt Lake City) suppressor. The optic was designed by Colt CZ, but will be manufactured in Canada.

It's also not a C7 or C8, it's a CMAR.

I have, it's garbage. It's a lot of thinly veiled the government has to step into regulate the market and the consumer is too stupid to be left to his own devices. He dresses it up in a lot of optimistic language. But it's the same thing guys like Larry Fink were saying years ago.
