Fireworks yeah. Luckily I live in a small town with noise rules after 9pm and after having gotten woken up twice in a row from it I called the cops and luckily one went off as I was on the phone and they heard it. Stopped after that and I doubt it helped anything, things bounce and sound closer than they are here. Plus it stopped at midnight so it felt like they were book-ending the day. They were definitely the same ones the night before.
Personally I don't care about being woken up, I can stand being a little grumpy, but we have a rescue dog that does not do well with fireworks, and at midnight when there are no other living people sounds to dampen it a bit. The town is good about announcing fireworks and I can be there with her, but at midnight? Fuck that. I'm rural enough that a chainsaw or lawnmower going off before 9am is nothing unusual. If you live in a city you probably won't understand how quiet it is at midnight here.
Not the first time I had to call - called last Halloween because they were setting off fireworks in an apartment close by - while kids were trick or treating. (Which if you can imagine by my previous statements, it's not exactly a large parking lot.
Not sure if it was them or someone else, but they were setting off fireworks around 10pm (which is actually reasonable this time of year when the sun sets at 9:30 and it was the Solstice. Fireworks before then don't make sense if you really want to see them. )
Now if they were just really extra happy they were in Canada there shouldn't be any more fireworks at midnight, but I'm a cynical bitch and taking a walk on Friday night, just in case.
