Canada is a failed state

The fact that Quebec is currently on fire, and the smoke from it is slowly engulfing the entire East Coast. I live in bumfuck PA, and there's still a layer of smog outside. What the fuck, Canada?

The only upside is that it bizarrely smells like someone baking chocolate cake, or brownies for some reason.
Outside had an eerie orange hue all weekend where it looked overcast, but it was actually clear skies with the sunlight burning through the smoke.

I ran outside to try to mow the lawn one morning when I realized that it finally wasn't 30 fucking degrees, then immediately started wheezing and felt like I was going to die between my allergies, the pollen and the fact that the air was like Beijing.
I'm also in the northeast and it's bad here. Every time I go outside I feel like I'm standing next to a charcoal grill. Hopefully it will be over by the weekend, it looks like it's starting to drift over the ocean.

Nah we'll keep getting waves of it while its burning. Hour from Philly you couldn't see more than a mile and a half and you could smell it. Leafbros, how's your forest management? Did they gut it for ecotardation like California? Either way I'm not to confident in Mx. Castro to get anything done

"If you put out the fires, the fires win!"

This year has been wild for fires. Especially so early in the year. Usually fires don't start until the middle of June, but they were cropping up end of April in some places. Alberta got hit bad, but it seems to be dying down. Nova Scotia's was weird, because people were telling me that it had been kind of damp until a couple of weeks ago, and Nova Scotia almost never has fires.

I'm sure none of these fires could've been arson, like the far right conspiracy that fires were being deliberately started in 2021/22. Wasn't some college prof with Antifa leanings put on trial for arson with some wildfire in Washington or Oregon?

Remains bad where I am. Air quality is poor, smells like theres a campfire not far at all times. And the sun is blotted out today.

Had a client in the other day telling me Trudeau's government is setting the fires to justify the 2nd carbon tax by artificially rising CO2 in the air.

I was so thoroughly disappointed with what came out of that lunatics mouth I told him he was stupid (Advantage to owning own buisness) and that the government would never need a reason to take your money, loved ones or property. They are the reason.

He doesn't need to do anything to justify it. This is Canada, the government passes shit, and when you complain, they tell you to fuck off. Because they know you will still vote Liberal in the belief it will piss off Americans for some reason.

And Justin Castro blame it on climate change that SOB!

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is shrugging off the blame for the ferocious wildfires wreaking havoc on the northeast, attributing them entirely to climate change and ignoring any suggestion that poor forest management may have played a role.
Biden yesterday sent 600 American firefighters to Canada to help battle the fires that have been raging for six weeks north of the border.
Those fires came into sharp focus yesterday when a choking blanket of smoke blew south, giving New York City the unhealthiest air of anywhere on earth and sparking chaos in many other states.
Outdoor events were canceled, all New Yorkers were told to stay indoors (or wear masks outside) and flights bound for LaGuardia Airport were grounded. They were grounded again today, triggering a ripple effect of cancelations and delays that will wreak havoc in airports both in the US and further afield.
The origins of the fires are yet to be definitively identified, but Canadian officials have for years been warned that better forest management is required to avoid such a catastrophe.
After the 2017 wildfires, multiple scientific reports recommended enhanced forest management in Canada - and increased spending - to combat the risk.

Calgary and Edmonton look like soulless cities with little distinct features copying the aspects of New York City and Tokyo. Being disconnected from nature destroys you and makes you appear very unusual. So eventually the contrasts between nature and artificial becomes clear. During my trip to Kyoto, I have ultimately decided it was the best city in Japan because it looks more natural and it's crime statistics are much lower than an average Japanese city.
To think then Calgary looked that way in a not so distant past for some people.

Well then the federal government is more retarded than evil, because they're unnecessarily whining about pesky impediments like 'democracy' getting in the way of their globohomo totalitarianism and aren't aware they can just make up whatever they want without going through all the trouble of contriving ways to convince the public to vote for them

What happened in Nova Scotia is that Hurricane Fiona came right over the province last fall knocking down trees all over the place. And of course no one went around cleaning up the trees. We had hardly any snow and a pretty dry spring. The Nova Scotia Fires were burning about a week before the rain. It's been raining mostly since Tuesday and the biggest fire is now contained (That just means it's not growing. What we really want is for it to be held or of course put out.

This is a historical fire for the province, and yes we don't usually get fires where people have to be evacuated.

It's about 91 square miles that's still burning. (I Googled the convertion as a way of saying sorry for the shitty dystopian air right now.)

Thank you, I had forgotten about the hurricane. That makes much more sense, usually Nova Scotia gets a hurricane like once a decade. I do remember the cleanup after Juan, and the hillbillies poaching deadfall for firewood.

More a tangent, but decent enough song from a Quebecois band that honestly does sum up a lot of the feelings in said thread (and in general across the US)

translation here

Thank you I have never heard that song before, I like it a lot.

Sorry I am too retarded to quote the "Fuck I hate the Liberals", wanted to add that I have not heard a single person happy with Liberals. Everyone I meat just has the worst things to say about our government. Most of these people being the working class. The only people I hear talking positively about politics here are retarded people I met post secondary. The people that know nothing and will say, "I hate Christians" but not even know what the Abrahamic religions are, and want more Muslim immigrants, cant forget that.

I really can't imagine that there isn't a huge issue with voters drop offs, I bet you the only reason why they don't care is because at the moment it works for them. We have boomers and trannys who vote... That cannot be sustainable long term. I just wonder when will be enough? In a very small amount of time I've seen Canadian be almost completely warped and twisted, even more up north I've noticed the traditions melt away.

It reminds me of a tattoo I got, the artists quote of the night was, "We need to grab all the guns and ammo and just start killing everyone in power, and if we run out of bullets we hang them publicly. " Very based and very blackpilled man. Feels like what we need just about now, in Minecraft of course!

Replying to myself because it is thread relevant:

Canada is basically just California on steroids. They even have basically the same amount of population.
Actual fun fact - we could probably fit the entire population of Canada in the LA Metro area and still have room left over. Outside the Ontario Panhandle, we're spread remarkably thinly. Too bad said panhandle thinks it's the center of the universe and is most of what gets exported as Canadian Culture (we have one of those?)
