You have at least 6 of those. The Quebecois, the First Nation, the Yankee/New England culture which is shared with the USA, the Midlands culture, again shared with the USA, the Far West culture, again shared, and finally the Left coast culture, sometimes called Ecotopia and shared. The Panhandle to which you refer is Yankee culture. The sanctimony it exudes makes identification rather obvious.
There are a few books out there that discuss this. I think it started with "The Nine Nations of North America" (Joel Garreau) which is quite dated at this point. There is also "American Nations - A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America" (Colin Woodard). Both are US-centric, but do attempt to cover all of North America. There may be something more Canada-centric and/or written by a Canadian. Might be worth looking into.
