Canada is a failed state

New law coming into effect and provinces are implementing federal mandate:

- no more pathway to work permit from unacredited colleges. Some private and public colleges included.

- no more spousal sponsorship with work permit ( what the fuck)

- colleges and universities must guarantee housing before they arrive. Basically, international students have to pay for housing before arrival and take what colleges give them.

- 35% reduction in student visa permits down to 350k a year instead of 1.2 million.

- super fucking difficult to get into pr draw. Limited to zero possibility to get PR.

- BC for instance is halting all intake of future international students. Other provinces to follow suit including Quebec.

Work limit for international students were extended to April 2024 from last year but I am betting they cannot work more than 20 hours from September 2024 which would curb even more students.

Two things.....one, tuition cost for international students about to go even higher to accommodate their housing requirement....two, unaccredited colleges is about to become extinct now that they can no longer milk work permit scams.

Ultimately, international students with $$$ won't be affected. Only pajeets and poor niggers affected.

We are about to enter recession. With dropping immigration and higher unemployment, Holy fucking shit rent might just fall off the cliff.....

Honestly im shocked that the Liberals will actually do this after ignoring the escalating issues for so long, and such a drastic measure too. We already were in a recession and this honestly can't make things worse as one of the main drivers of the recession is that we have too many people willing to work for pennies and not enough jobs and houses. If even a portion of them fuck off back home then finding a job will be easier and it'll pay better. I don't think housing prices will drop that quickly though as too many are held by speculators and such

Try searching "motivated seller" on real estate listings to see how the speculators are doing in your area.

I have watched individual listings drop 25% over the past few months. Still a long way down to go.

Real estate corps work with urinalists to carefully only report when the monthly fluctuations in average sale prices are good news for them, but it is increasingly a blood bath (depending on your area).

It dropping 0.25% isnt going to make the renewal on a 1.3mil mortgage affordable. Every month more houses with unaffordable mortgages are dumped onto listings.
Exactly. The volatility is largely from lack of inventory and even smaller pool of buyers who just can't wait.

Housing will become some of an issue for next decade or so. Might fix itself very quickly though if rent drops and rates stay high.

I'm not seeing a lack of inventory in my area? Houses sit for months without selling, and are only sold after dropping prices several times and even then usually under asking.

What area is that? As over here the market is still pretty overheated.

BC isn't halting all intake of future foreign students, only foreign students to new 'colleges.' Existing diploma mills can continue to admit foreign students.

Just saw the Jagmeet speech about "helping the middle class". His false concern aside, this was the first time I've listed to him speak for longer than 20 minutes and I've never noticed his queer mannerisms until now. Maybe I'm just imagining this due to the rumors about Trudeau's sexuality. But I'm beginning to think there's a lot of closeted gay males in our federal politics.

You have Trudeau (who's a possible queer), Jack Layton (deceased) was also rumored to be gay/bisexual. Now Jagmeet is another possible closeted politician.

Fifty bucks say Jagmeet is 'on the downlow', as the niggers put it.

Skippy is likely gay too. Turned out by his adoptive gay dad. Always seemed like his relationship with Jenni Byrne was one of convenience. Then he gets a mail order bride? I wonder who really fathered his kids. Has to put on the act so he doesn't become the next John Baird.
