On one hand, good thing Brave has the built in TOR browser. Hopefully that works as a stopgap until I actually get a VPN.

On the other hand, I'm primarily a phone poster. Guess I'm lurking less for the foreseeable future - God I hope whoever gets in after Trudy repeals this, but why would I have hope in Clown World...

Once you connect to TOR your digital foot print stands out like a sore thumb to your ISP and they know you are on it... "unless you use a bridge". I'm of the opinion bridges are not impossible to identify or obtain lists of. To a normie or Trudeau politburo inquisitor you are already guilty of something at that point. Hopefully you are just using the Darkweb to traffic fentanyl by the oil drum and participating in murder for hire because god help you if you are saying racisms or photoshopping Trudeau into Hitler paintings and calling the deputy PM a nazi witch.

You could use a VPN provider to connect to TOR as they have TOR servers but this makes TOR die hard anon people go completely insane at the thought of because you are not anon to your VPN provider. In my estimation it's the least bad thing because all your ISPs see is a typical VPN and for all they know you just using it to connect to Netflix Mexico to watch Telenovas. They can't really be sure you are a bad actor thinking and posting your bad thoughts until they are certain you connect to TOR. And why would an innocent person need to do such a thing? There will be a whole federal bureaucracy with RCMP level resources dedicated to this, loaded with diversity hires just hunting for white people saying white things. Getting logs straight from the ISPs without court orders or judicial review. The profound incompetence of anything Canada can be a saving grace but there will be very unlucky people here that will be made into high profile examples.

They do cash in the mail too although hypothetically you can be identified by your printer or the physical handling of anything. Dead dropping cash into a mailbox gives people the good feelz though.

I wonder how well that would go for people outside the EU. I feel like they would seize my monopoly money in customs.
They should have a guy for every major city where you can arrange a place to leave a shoebox full of cash with your account number, hidden in some shrub, and have them pick it up. Or just a shady looking guy in a black trenchcoat you can covertly hand it off to.

I pay for my Mullvad using XMR, so they have as minimal information about me as possible. BTC maxis could do a BTC-XMR swap to add a layer of obfuscation, but it's very satisfying to be able to use my mining rewards for something. I renewed for another year recently, and I really really wish I did before Binance delisted XMR and the price took a hit :|

I know stuff like ProtonVPN have the special TOR servers, but nothing is stopping you from simply connecting to the TOR network through your VPN connection yourself. There are some arguments against doing so, but I honestly don't bother disabling my VPN before starting the TOR browser the odd time I need it. I'm arguably more anonymous to Mullvad than I am to my thundercunt ISP, and my ISP would only see the encrypted WireGuard connection. Plus, Mullvad has their multi-hop and obfuscation stuff. They can't really outlaw VPN packets without destroying enterprise setups, at least for the time being.

My only concern with Brave's TOR stuff is browser fingerprinting. I could be wrong, but I imagine the footprint would differ from the stock TOR browser, which could make you more traceable.

While we're on the subject of privacy tools and fingerprinting, check out CanvasBlocker. It's not hard to set up.

Cash in the mail is such an oddity in today's world and sending to an EU country is pretty safe. I'd be more worried about the next WEF meeting in Davos to discuss racisms and deanonymizing people as Mullvad and Proton are in EU nations and pressure coming to "stop the hate" or passing similar ID laws individually or through the EU parliament.

There are a few oddities to using TOR servers and it depends if you want to use plain Firefox or not. I know a shitzo who swears Mullvad is a honey pot just by the way they operate and the sheer amount of recommendations they get everywhere, getting people to flock there. Still safer than your ISP and a $70,000 fine for saying you wouldn't get between the Finance Minister's 55 year old cottage cheese thighs even if she held her Waffen-SS Luger to your head.

They can't tell what you're doing on it, though. Connecting to TOR in and of itself is not illegal... not yet, anyway. Unless you're posting "I am Jack Jones of 34 Young Street, Toronto, Ontario and this is my detailed plan to gas the jews," they are not going to track you down on TOR. I'm not saying it's 100% impossible to track someone who is using the Tor/Brave with Tor on a simple desktop computers, I am saying they're only going to throw resources into tracking you if you glow super hard, not for posting about how you generally dislike the Liberal government and their trannies. I agree Tor + VPN is probably the best combo, but TOR beats VPN alone any day.
