It was like this at a real university in 2007. Most professors just reuse stuff from previous years or from their colleagues. For the most part honestly it's fine... programming doesn't change that much. For security though (which is constantly evolving) and networking at the time it was pretty dumb.

Nobody was cheating though, or at least nobody who finished the program; you would get found out pretty quick.

honestly I've had this new autistic obsession with mobile bike carts, like the ones you'd see in Asia selling random food. I don't think I could manage actual food or a stand itself but maybe something pre packaged or simple drinks. Obviously kind of boned for the winter. I actually talked to a guy once that did hot dogs and made a ton of money on it. I'm just not that passionate about food but it's not the worst idea and could be a small start up cost with money still left over.

I appreciate the responses though - my whole lineage has been in poverty for a long time so I wouldn't take even half of their advice so I'm not naive. Ideally maybe the "solution" is to leave the country but realistically some of us don't have the means to and it might take another decade before I do if I tried my very best. I just want to maybe hopefully avoid the tent cities and eat some okay food and maybe have a pet or two. Sucks that as it stands that's easily 2k a month in the best of situations. I'd be okay having my own small business if it meant earning enough to survive. I don't want to be too entrapped in the volatile economic factors such as rental prices (having a store I pay rent on) or food items (when the cost of the production is pretty high right now) or luxury goods (that only 25% of people I probably won't reach can afford). I'm not a tech oriented person so I won't be making apps to fund my life or anything.

In a lot of places, that's joining the military if you're not an invalid. Room, meals, healthcare, and sometimes job training as well. Getting a gig with air traffic control leads to a comfy civie job when you get out. Private security contracting is also solid once you've got some experience.

Just don't be a fool and sign up for life. The real money in the government is the ability to influence financial decisions. That's a rich man's game. As a poor man, you're just looking to find a good grift and avoid getting caught up in office politics. I guess you could aim at becoming a mountie if you wanna go watch injuns beat their wives, if that's what floats your boat.

This suggests that what we're moving towards is a two tier system, one where the publicly funded healthcare is shit, and where the private healthcare is, you would assume, better, but actually costs money.

The conspiracy tard in me and left wing side of my politics would actually assume that the current Ontario progressive conservative
government enjoys this, as they've been trying to privatize and cutback on healthcare for a considerable amount of time now- but imagine this:

You will still pay taxes for healthcare- so Ampreets mother can stay in a hospice, and the rest of the services will be shit, and youre also going to pay insurance premiums for private clinics on top of that. I suspect, with some posters stories of care for their elderly relatives being shit if its publically funded, we're already largely there tbh

But thats where I think we are heading. This also goes back to the failed state shit, because this is what you tend to see in Brazil, Mexico, etc.

The con's are known to underfund OHIP, it's not a myth. But the Liberal's gutted it pretty badly. They all have a starve the beast agenda.

In 2013 I had a parotidectomy. I had a tumor in my parotid gland. I was diagnosed a few years before when I was 20 but it started growing really rapidly so the doctor's said it was time to come out as it ''could be cancer. or changed into cancer''.

So it's not a quickie operation by any means. You're supposed to spend a week in the hospital, be wrapped up in bandages and have a drain tube placed into the incision. This is an example of the correct procedure process




You want to know what happened to me? none of that.

When I woke up I had no drain tube, was not bandaged and was told to go home not any more than 2 hours after my surgery. It was shocking. I was mostly numb on the incision line so the pain hadn't hit me yet. It was a 2 hour drive home and luckily I had someone to take me back but the time I got home... holy shit! the pain set in. There was no pain control plan given to me. I hadn't even looked at my incision due to fear, but when I looked at it the next day it was a lot FUCKING LARGER than I as told. It went all the way behind my neck. Absolutely huge. And guess what? they used ''glue stitches''. They said it was so it would dissolve on it's own but they typically use staples for a surgery like this.

But the nightmare had only began.... because there was no drain tube placed in a collection of blood began to gather under my incision and a swelling formed around my entire neck making it difficult to breathe. I had to go to another hospital to have it drained. Then my incision began to start 'opening up'' because the glue stitches weren't doing a good job of holding it together. I had to keep going back to the hospital for intravenous antibiotics and to be restitched. Plus, I developed a nasty infection. The wound also refused to heal or properly close for months. It took about six months for it to heal and the process was hellish.

No cancer though. But god damn, it was a nightmare.
