Canada is a failed state

I feel so vindicated. I was on Reddit and shit back in like 2013 saying that these programs suppressed wages, drove up housing, had little benefit to the average Canadian and were basically slavery and was called racist online for it. That's a downright mainstream opinion now.
I personally felt it wasn't a big deal back in 2013.
Now it's.....holy fuck.

This report focuses on farm work temporary hires and I strongly disagree with the findings. Farm labour is really hard to come by in Canada, there are not enough people willing to work for minimum wage (which is already insanely high) in the middle of the countryside. So they bring in people from the Caribbean seasonally to work, most of these people are making good money for a Caribbean country and only need to work a few months in Canada to cover the rest of the year. Most of these farms have a really good relationship with their TFW and hire the same people year over year as they develop good skills.

These people aren't abusing the system to come into Canada.

As a contrast, the TFW program for low wage earners means that every Tim Hortons and Subway franchise in the country is avoiding hiring actual Canadian teenagers and instead mass importing Pajeets. This lowers wages and raises housing prices but both sides of that system are exploiting each other. The worthless UN report doesn't even care about that side.
Before TFW programs were a thing, farmers usually hired teenagers during the summer break for help around the farm and got by just fine.

I'd like to see the TFW program sorted out or removed altogether, but in the current era, teens won't work on farms when they can get 40hrs working at a drive thru, retail or something similar.

You need to keep in mind that farmers (not giant factory farms, but family run farms) make barely anything on their crops these days. Does the government need to step in and force grocers to stop acquiring foodstuffs from outside the country? Maybe? I can't answer that, could be that farmers need to get together and ensure they're paid properly for the risk they take in growing crops and the work put into them. As it stands currently, crops buyers make the most money in the equation, with grocers making the next largest sum, farmers coming in last. The result is that profit margins are razorthin, farmers can't really offer more than $15/h for backbreaking labor in the sun, and when I was a kid I worked anywhere other than a farm as a result. My friends did the same. My dad grew up on a farm and used to give me shit for refusing to go work for his friend picking strawberries, but slinging icecream to tourists was a helluva lot more preferable to bending over a bush for hours with minimal breaks. I had AC at least.

If you can get $19/h cleaning offices and bathrooms for a company or the government, or $20+/h being manual labor for construction, why wouldn't you choose that instead of being eaten by flies all day picking crop for someone else?

All I know for certain is that overloading the country with foreign labor to keep wages low isn't helping anyone that needs help. It's just making the rich richer, and keeping farmers going. There has to be a way to solve this issue, but I won't claim to be smart enough to know what it is without further research.

I think we can get creative with accommodating farming sector. Make farming cheaper, for instance. No tax and/or deferred tax on all crops yielded per hectare/acre, fuel and gas subsidies/tax exemption, no hst/GST collected, and capping the cost of land for farming for small farmers.

Right now inflation is hitting everyone including farmers looking to start up something. It costs millions of dollars just to get up and running. It's crazy expensive to farm. That's why you see more and more farmers opting to sell their land for millions to bigger corporation/farmer because it's better than going bankrupt.

The entire economy is hellbent on making farming impossible. Changing that will inevitably make farming more attractive and we will see rural town boom once again.

Teens aren't able to get jobs in fast food, grocery and retail anymore. Look at any Canadian subreddit and you will get tons of threads of parents complaining how their teenage kids are unable to find summer jobs.

The only teen jobs that seem to be safe from Jeets are ones where you have to get certifications like Lifeguards.

Teens will be back to Corn Detassling

TFW programs aren't the problem. The key thing is "temporary".

If all the workers were just working on farms and gone after the summer, I'd honestly be fine with the Cooley system working there.

Student visas on the other hand are the problem.

TFW going into fast food is the problem. I've never known many teens to work on farms and there it's justified if noone is working these jobs. Not in retail or fast food, where it is being weaponized

Places hiring TFWs through the program requiring an LMIA aren't really the problem. Its stated purpose is to only bring people in for jobs that they can't fill with Canadians or PRs (idk if it works this way in practice). It's the LMIA-exempt TFWs hired through the IMP (International Mobility Program) that are the issue. IMP has a stated purpose to " promote Canada's broad economic, social, and cultural interests", whatever the hell that means. It still requires something like academic awards, work experience, entrepreneurship, etc to qualify, but it is trivial for people from corrupt shitholes to cheat, fake or sell credentials, set up a fake scam business, just lie their asses off, etc (Indians are the worst offenders but by no means are they the only ones).

This speaks for itself:

(also keep in mind they can bring their spouse and kids here, and that somebody in the family needing expensive health care interventions out of reach at home is often a motivation to even apply for this program having specifically chose Canada in the first place...)

Most of the growth has been in industries that either bring in people lying about qualifications/skills or are otherwise incompetent, or else do not require a skill at all and I have a hard time believing cannot be filled with Canadians. The trend is probably continuing but can't find the most current data, but here's a breakdown by sector:

(warning: huge image):
tfw.png

I'd be interested in knowing if the degree of product/service quality suffering from the "competency crisis" is proportional to the number of job positions replaced by IMP applicants but I think we know what we'd find. You can fill a position with a 55 year old who has been doing a job *in Canada, to Canadian standards* for 40 years, know the job inside and out, and essentially are mostly responsible for the entire workplace remaining functional... a Canadian Millennial or Zoomer who could be clueless but at least have a legitimate education and are willing to listen and learn... or for nearly the same wage you can hire 2-3 young overworked Indian scammers with fake diplomas who are probably lazy, retarded and/or negligent and couldn't understand instructions even if their language skills were decent, which they usually aren't. So many companies are opting for the second option and every time a Boomer retires everything goes to shit even worse.

Although to be totally fair, with the increased number of Canadians who (especially since covid) just say "fuck it" and leech off our overly generous welfare system their entire lives or malinger for disability, teenagers having too much "depreshun and anxiety" to possibly be expected to work a job/attend school, and colleges becoming daycare centers I could see the necessity if no politicians are willing to take the hit to their popularity if they started kicking bullshitters and pussies off social programs, or at least further incentivized part time work...but the jobs need to be there in the first place.

In fact I'm almost thinking it might be better to eliminate the low-wage TFW program category altogether, with an exemption for agriculture and caregivers (whether they work for a private employer or nursing home/group home shouldn't matter). Just spitballing here, would that be realistic? Afaik the massive employers (Tim Hortons, Walmart, Amazon, big property management companies, etc) account for a lot of the growth, and can definitely afford to hire equally competent Canadians. It wouldn't solve anything, really, but could stem the bleed a little bit.

Damn. You can just hear the frustration in his voice. He's so fucking done with this shit.
I'm seeing all the shit I thought start to come true. Just buckle up. No election will save anything, no promises will be held, and nothing will improve. Every day we spend here is another day that will never be as good as the one before. You might have a good day, but those days will never compare to what we once had. Nothing ever will. It's better to accept it now than to wait to get the motivation to change it.
Even though it's a generalization, Canadians on average really are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Not everyone is gonna hold the door for you or apologize if you smack them in the face, but even the coldest people here know how to not be assholes most of the time.

To get average Canadians this mad at one group of people is a failure of epic proportions.

The thing that makes the job search even worse? The Infinite Jeet's almost all seem to work multiple jobs - least the ones I somewhat talk to at my own wage slavery to be polite all seem to. Every single one of them brings up how they've just come from another job.

I don't live in a major city, so I'm just left wondering where the fuck they all have these second jobs? Sure, I know one dumbass who legitimately thought he was better off doing DoorDash, but still - the fuck are teens doing now that every job is gobbled up like its nothing?

Was assaulted for taking this picture.
In the picture an Indian woman is begging for money to support four children and her husband. After taking the image she came up to me and my partner and said she will call the police and to delete the photo, so I sent the photo over sms as a backup and handed over my phone to deescalate as I'm not going to jail over a picture and would rather drop a victim card if the police came saying she assaulted me for no reason. Stay the fuck away from the Indian menace. Also rate me puzzle pieces if you think this was a really stupid idea.

Was talking to my partner about how if she was native or white she would be accosted/called a druggie and told to get a job or helped by another native or white person, she's specifically trying to manipulate people who are religious and who care about children (primarily whites) she will be completely ignored by her own race as she said to me her family will think it's disgraceful.

That's when you pretend you are parking, take a photo from your car and then drive away. (Or if it was as you were leaving the store with your partner you take a photo as you are driving away.

It's illegal to take a photo of someone out in a public space? I don't take pictures of random people but I thought you only had the expectation of privacy in specific spaces. Out in a parking lot, it seems like you should expect people to be caught in photos, security cam footage, etc.

she said its illegal to take photos of people without permission, I ended up socially manipulating her into a false sense of security because I just really didnt want to argue because I was walking home, she had a cardboard sign with massive letters on it, also when she took my phone she deleted it not only from my gallery but the cache folder where trash is stored. it was the fact she was given so many oppourtinuties in this country to prosper yet she chooses to use her children and religion to scam people into pity and giving her money so I took a photo, that shit rubs me the wrong way.

I would just wait for her to call the police, and walk away. I live in freedom land though.

Do the Canadian police exist just to allow retards to harass the general public? Because that's what it sounds like you are telling me.

It is not. Barring extremely confidential scenarios like a bathroom, interrogation room, or clandestine bedroom recordings, Canada is single-party consent for recordings of people/groups/conversations.
