Canada is a failed state

I mean, both Liberal supporters and politicians deserve to suffer. So if any tariffs go through, hopefully it hurts them the most, or pisses off some already-unstable NDP voter enough to take the law in to their own hands.

It's kind of like how I feel about the Pro Hamas riots in Montreal the other night.

I feel sorry for the innocent people there hurt, and for random businesses that got vandalized, and I hope they bounce back from it.

But it also caused damage to the traitorous Liberal regime, because it's yet another example of how they've broken Canada.

Let's hope Bill Blair gets a brick to the face in the middle of a press conference next time.
Whatever happens here I blame Trudeau, unironically.

Trudeau constantly screaming about Trump, Trump influenced politicians, how American interference in the Trucker protest is fermenting fascism here, etc

I think it basically poisoned the relationship, and Trump is rightly vindictive.

If it was any other politician, they would have the common sense not to say and spread nasty rumors about their partner south of the border. At the least, a better politician would have a warmer, friendlier relationship- but no, not our commander in chief.

But like everything else, Trudeau and his wedding party cabinet are so profoundly stupid they assumed Canada’s moral superiority was real and aspirational, not fluffy cope to offset our small actual global influence.
Its worse than that, insofar as his cabinet constantly airs dirty laundry at American republicans every time they can, while still on their dollar in terms of exports, and now the chickens are coming home to roost.

My hope is that this is just a negotiating tactic from Trump, to turn Canada around and force Trudeau to turn back the clock on the autistic environmentalism and open up the natural resource industry again, which would be truly humiliating- but chances are, we're going to get the shaft basically.

I yet again blame the people who continue to vote for Trudeau, and who seemed to make it their mission to insult Trump and republicans needlessly and constantly for the better part of this decade, and then act undignified and surprised when Trump does things like this vindictively

I think it would be funny if trump just invited Pollievre to Mar-A-Lago to start talks.

Kind of like how the entire world is treating Trump like he’s the president two months before inauguration because Biden is gone mentally and Kamala is just drunk and everyone wants someone in charge so shit can get fixed.

While funny I think that falls under election interference and probably some other laws about making agreements with someone not the minister

What election? 😉

Besides, they can’t do anything binding, just shoot the shit about the problems that they could solve if the extremely unpopular Justin just got out of the way.

Little PP is going to have to drop this "I'm a big boy too" attitude towards Trump and bend the knee and fast.

If Trump slaps a 25% tariff on incoming Canadian goods and raw resources it will crush our already teetering economy. 90% of our products go to the states and the hard truth is they don't need us...we need them.

Stick this TDS shit somewhere else PP for when you become PM next year you cannot afford it. You need Trump on your side no matter what your Laurenta Street masters say.

The one positive I see in this is that Trump's threats lit a fire under this government's ass and that Trudeau is facing the reality that is not the alpha he believes he is. I must wonder if this strategy is part of "the big ask" to get some minor concessions because putting these tariffs on the USA's biggest trading partners is going to be painful for them, at least in the short term. Frankly, Canada has been in a desperate need of a reckoning for decades now. We have become too fat and lazy because our geographic position, becoming utterly economically and militarily dependent on. There are no half-measures this time. Unfortunately, half-measures are all Trudeau does.
