Both are leaders are relatively large nations that are focused on resource extraction with large neighbours that they constantly piss off and then cry foul when the larger neighbours says they will retaliate

If its any consolation a friend said that a friend who is an American said that they would still buy Canadian steel irregardless of the tarriffs as they are better quality and consistent compared to American steel which is apparently made from really old plants heavily overdue for upgrading.

There are times when you need to be a dictator and this is one of them. Halting immigration completely until our economy stabilizes should be a no brainer, pumping money into natural resource development is another one.

Gold prices are at an all time high and he have some of the biggest gold deposits in the world outside of South Africa in Northern Ontario and BC. I know for a fact that there are talks into reopening gold mines that closed because they were too close to cutoff grade, but with Gold at all time high and a low Canadian dollar all the sudden those mines that shut down for being to close to break even are now potential money printers with existing infrastructure in place. Same with Nickel, Molybdenum, Potash, Uranium, etc...

1) They are natural contrarians. They've spent most of the last year shitting on Bernier and the PPC despite this tranche being their potential closest allies.


2) They are noticer anti-Zionists. They hate Nick Fuentes but essentially have similar geopolitical views to the Groypers vis a vis Zion Don.


3) They romanticize Canada's UK & French founding stock. They've adopted the Red Ensign as their secondary symbol. MacKenzie is proud of his Scottish heritage. They have fondness for military traditions and history that predate modern globohomo banker wars. They are loosely affiliated with an anglo-Quebecois called Fortissax whose entire X feed champions Canada's dual English/French founding traditions before being poisoned by PET's multiculturalism.


4) They see subjugation to Washington as simply more Western alienation/Laurentian hegemony on steroids. They see Ottawa as callous & corrupt but ultimately incompetent and feckless. They don’t wish to be vassals for new more powerful rulers in Washington and Tel Aviv with even less representation and loyalty who are bigger threats.

I didn't actually pay attention to any of the MSM coverage of the Ontario election last week beyond the fringe parties because everything else is fake & gay.

Considering that Ford called for a snap election "for a mandate to fight against Trump’s tariffs", was there any actual daylight between the policy positions of the Ontario PCs, Liberals and NDPs wrt Trump and countertariffs if this was a single-issue vote for a citizen?

I'm super sure that cutting power to a bunch of people in midwest states won't leave them all hating Canada even more.

Imagine the US entirely cutting oil or food exports to Canada, their citizens would immediately demand blood.

Its such a wild escalation from a tariff that you instantly know he's bluffing and expects a deal to be hammered out before then.

As a leaf I'm conflicted between whether to be pissed at trump for stabbing us in the back or be pissed at our government for letting this shit happen and not preparing for the day of the rake a decade ago
