this is sadly true. So much of Canada's GDP comes from morons selling ever increasingly costly houses to each other.

The Liberal's literally cannot afford to do anything lest our country's credit rating get downgraded and then we're fucked as the interest rate on our debt is killing us already so getting downgraded and having to pay even more interest would kill whats left of the budget.
 
I have been spending more time in the hospital and had yet another brush with dystopia.

My loved one has been gravely ill, and getting care ranging from indifferent to negligent. But that’s a story for another time.

My story here is actually about the other person in his hospital room- you get to overhear other people’s drama.

An older fellow (looked like 70s but hard to tell with sick people) had his three kids there, and they were all fighting over his stuff because he’d signed up for MAID.

The kids were trying to get him to rewrite his will and bitching about the dates he was choosing to get offed. No one was all that upset other than by the inconvenience and whether or not they were getting what they wanted.

It was absolutely bizarre. The dad was just checked out. He didn’t look terminally ill (not that that means anything of course), he just seemed like he’d McFuckin Had It.

It went on for at least two days before they moved him off somewhere. Meanwhile, my loved one is fighting for his life and trying to get care because if treated correctly he has a chance but it’s impossible to get anyone to see the treatments through.

I hate this country so much.

The only way to get decent timely heathcare in the country is if you have a immediate family member that works in healthcare and can use their connections to get openings.

My sympathies to you and your relative.

Gentlemen if you are single it is recommended to try to date a Nurse (I know Teachers are tempting because no childcare in the summer and the sweet pension splitting when you are retired, just Nurses have those healthcare connections).

Green Power is a scam for 99% of the planet - like, the Netherlands for Wind Power is one of the only workable example I can immediately think of. Oil will be king for transportation until either the entire power grid gets overhauled to not brown out when a critical mass of people try to charge their cars, or some genius makes Nuclear Powered Cars.

The NDP must be on some pure uncut columbian copium if they think that they have any chance at even coming close to getting into power in Alberta of all places. I know they have that they have that one seat in downtown edmonton, but seriously how retarded are they.

Well it's happened before. The last time the Cons split into WR and APC the NDP ran up the middle and took the province over for 4 bloody long years and ran up a huge deficit.

The real issue is that only about 1/3 of the UPC are really behind separation so the NDP's is trying to push for a schism so they can do a repeat run. Most of the WR are either onboard separation actively or at least are willing to talk about it but a lot of the city MP's are not willing to even talk about it.

For the last election the WR made the UPC give some them some internal concessions I can't talk about to unify the party once again to keep the NDP frozen out. Now those concessions are coming home and a large swath of the UPC no longer want to or are even willing to abide by the agreement which is becoming a real issue in the party,

This poses a danger as another Con split is very possible as the WR have to play hardball to get the city MP's to come to the table but this runs the risk the urban types would rather see another 4 years of NDP rule then allow serious seperation talk.

After all the NDP always fuck shit up and only win when the Cons split but if the WSP'ers get power then Alberta may indeed vote to leave which fucks up a lot of longer term plans.

Never doubt the average Pol's desire to fuck over the people just as long as they can keep filling their pockets.

Provincial and federal arms of the NDP are completely detached from one another. Especially in the West where the provincial Liberal parties have been completely wiped out of existence. The Federal NDP was already a tire fire during the last BC election, it had no bearing at all on the result.
