The inevitable civil war will be easiest conflict ever. No one outside liberal useless eaters and champagne socialists support the feds, all the jeets and chinks will flee. Canadian politics are their own and pretty much incompatible with the current US politics. Canadian conservative is based on British conservative, not on the US' liberty and distrust of government. The right in the UK also don't want encroaching government, but they don't have this visceral distrust that's so common in the US right. Now the left both here and down South have gotten similar but 15-20 years ago, they would have been different enough too.

Those are our cultural bones, and they won’t stay buried despite our eternal fighting with Central Canada.

I'll respond to this with a political cartoon that was made in 1870. Its so multi layered and can be read multiple ways, especially given the context of the era. You could attribute fraternal altruism or sinister intent depending on your political opinions at the time. It also hits like a hammer given the context now I think.
