Canada basically suffers from the same "resource curse" that Venezuela suffers from. The resource curse is when a country that should do well due to their abundance of resources, like Canada or Venezuela, is poor despite its potential. Usually this is because said countries are held back by corruption, nepotism, or just simply weak and easily exploitable institutions, sounds familiar?
These motherfuckers at the No Tyrants protest were probably gleeful when trucker protesters had their bank accounts frozen. Ask any of them what they think of Bill C-8 and C-9 and their eyes will glaze over.
Those fuckers straight up wanted to the government to Tiananmen square the truckers. I'm actually Chinese-Canadian, so that was a huge wake up call for me, though I've always been conservative-leaning my entire life.
If Canada even has a great firewall like China has/what Russia is trying to implement, I'm pretty sure most Canadians would willingly self-censor. About 30-35% of Chinese internet users use VPNs and about 40-45% of Russians use vpns as well. This shows that there are genuine resistance towards their respective governments despite their tight grip. In Canada, I'd predict at most around 20% of Canadians using VPNs

Canada is basically a little man trying to act tall. Pretty much the North Korea of the western world, except we're WAY too inept to ever build nukes to fend off our enemies. If the Western European globalists governments fall in places like France or the UK, there's a non-zero chance Canada would become the left wing liberal version of North Korea. Where Canada is the last bastion of leftist liberalism the same way North Korea is the last bastion of traditional communism, or even farther back with how tsarist Russia was the last bastion of absolute monarchy in Europe.
Canada will never have another centre right government again
Technically Canada had only been a true democracy for the last 20 or so years, since the PCs Federally were no better than a controlled opposition party like in Russia (with maybe a few exceptions).
