Regarding the government denying Chinese human rights violations, I've already seen liberal Canadians who are genuinely racist towards Tibetans and Uyghers. I've even seen someone who referred to the Chinese as bring "co-prosperity." Canadians are on the "right side of history" supposedly remember. I came across a discussion about the CCP, and one person involved legit started having a conniption about another person referring to the Falun Gong as anything but a "terrorist group." The person having the crashout over the Falun Gong not being referred to as terrorists was a Syrupean boomer, and could not accept that there might be any other term for the group. It was such a significant sperg-out that I actually looked up the group, and the whole thing is anti-communist by dint of encouraging personal harmony and shit, it's all tai chi and making decisions for yourself instead of letting the CCP do it.

Honestly, I just appreciate how upfront they're being about it. Whether that's due to incompetence or knowing what the average Leafistani is like is up for debate, but it's a nice change of pace to see politicians being this open about being bought and paid.
