Canada is a failed state

For anyone who wasn't tracking the byelections closely the CPC votes retracted significantly in each riding:

Terrebonne 18.2% to 2.6%; Scarborough Southwest 30.6% to 18.8%; University-Rosedale 23.5 to 12.4%.

Now two of these were former ministers Freeland and Blair, and one is in Quebec and usually by election turnouts are low so maybe its not indicative of the country at large. But if I may be enthusiastic maybe we are finally reaching the end of the progressive conservative movement. Elsewhere right wing parties that actually act right wing are seeing growth while their traditional parties are floundering, see the Tories, Reform and Restore in the UK right now.

I mean what's with this turncoat broad earlier this week? She was some kind of outspoken anti-abortionist conservative and just threw it all away and promised not to vote against abortion anymore? How pathetic and worm like can you get. The CPC's last move will be to try shoving Doug Ford into the breach. But I sincerely hope it fails and the era of the "respectable" conservative ends.

Canada isnt a real countrgly anymore it's a sick experiment.

I've been dealing with the hospital system with a young loved one and they literally give her mind bending drugs and proceed to question her about what she wants for a course of action in treatment.

There is no fucking doubt in my mind that they do this with people when asking about MAiD target them at their absoulete weakest to ask the hardest possible questions.

Time and time again they have done this infront of me.
Through this whole ordeal i've spoken to multiple MPPs and am having other constituents in other ridings bringing forth the same issue i cannot take this anymore. I cant concieve of worse torture on someone then what i am experiencing.

If there's a alternative right wing party in Canada, it will have to be one that actually critizes the liberals. So NOT the PPC, and certainly not the DS or SS (also not being an obviously lib psyop definitely would help). Not saying they couldn't critizes the cons either, but newer conservative parties that has found success critiques both the establishment right and well as the establishment left. When I was subbed to the PPC news emails, they EXCLUSIVELY attacked the cons and whenever they attacked something exclusively liberal they somehow found a way to bring up the cons as well. They straight up refused to criticize a party that has been in power for 70% of Canadian history.

Canadians claim to be on the "right side of history" and the "good guys" but any country that supports shit like this cannot be considered virtuous (especially since canadians have to constantly bring up how great we are). Also the China glaze is insane in Canada, any country that supports the PRC cannot be considered as the "good guys."

The right already split once before, if it happens again I doubt that they'll merge back. The fiscal "conservatives" will likely just fade away once they realize they have no influence in either the libs or whatever party replaces the conservatives

They never learn. They put in Erin O'Toole, a cross dresser, he is labelled a 'mini Trump'. They put in Scheer, a fat beta, he is labelled a 'fascist'. They put in PP, he is labelled a 'Nazi'. You can install the most left leaning of leftists in charge of the Conservative Party and they will always be smeared as 'fascists, Nazis, or Mini-Trumps'. Look at Fat Ford. This guy hasn't changed or reversed a single fucking thing Kathleen Wynne implemented and the libtards in this province still call him a 'Nazi'. Trying to placate these people is a losers endeavor. PP was great as an attack dog. As soon as he was neutered he appealed to nobody. I don't want to see a conservative play Mr. Dress Up. I just want an actual conservative that doesn't back down to the faggots in this country.

Have you considered going South of the boarder for treatment? At this point it could be the best course of action.

Not entirely the same but my great uncle got prescribed 3 different fluid pills due to him having an excess but he broke out in a rash and its hard to tell which one gave him it, its kinda crazy how some of these doctors act with drugs.

I haven't seen that in forever like i dont wanna say your exaggerating but do they?

They will try (in part because Ford obviously is angling for the spot), but it will be the end of the CPC. Ford is cancer out west given his closeted anti-gun stance (Ontario and BC are the only provinces not rejecting the firearms ban) and the fact he's from Ontario. His increasing political baggage and friendliness with Carney only further irritate the voters he needs to win over. Also Ford has been incredibly lucky during his tenure as Premier: the OLP have terminal foot in mouth retardation with their leader choices, the Ontario NDP are somehow even worse, and both consistently split the left-wing vote enough to let the Ontario PC run up the middle. The same conditions are not present federally and Ford will not find a pushover in the federal Libs, especially given how liberal Ford is himself.

To a degree I also hope the CPC does blow up because it will start reinforcing how various regional interests are not being taken care of under the current arrangement - doubly so if the Supreme Court decides to arbitrarily enforce limitations on the Notwithstanding Clause in direct contradiction to the constitution as well. You'll start seeing an uptick in separatist support and increasingly radicalized provincial parties in that scenario.

Ford is an extremely cowardly politician who is easily bullied by the media. He basically folds on anything and everything the second it looks bad in the press. He's thoroughly useless as Premier. So the media is fairly silent on him.

The media has been getting louder as he wants to take at run at the Federal Cons and being leader, as well it looks like Federal Liberal staffers are starting to jump back to the OLP so they might attempt a serious run next election in Ontario.

Last time I went to a hospital in my part of Canada I didn't even get into see a doctor.

This is why I kind of hope he does give into retardation and actually make a play to be Con leader. The Liberal captured media will have a field day and he won't know at all how to handle the petty remarks, callous criticism, and utter lack of ball washing he's used to. If you thought Carney was hilarious getting called out Ford will effectively be Starmer 2.0 and show just how pathetic our political class actually us. God forbid we eventually get someone in charge with a spine and a sense for controlling the journoscum rabble.

Everything he has ever done will come roaring back to bite him in the ass. All the corruption, all the scandals, all the non scandals that sound like scandals will suddenly be front and center. It's difficult to nearly impossible to transfer from Provincial to Federal politics. Noted Eugenicist Tommy Douglas couldn't even win his seat in Saskatchewan when he made the jump to Federal politics.

"You're the doctor retard but if it's my choice, maybe fixing said issue? While not making everything else worse? "

Translated into Poohjabi, of course...

Make sure you're always in the room or next thing you know she'll realize the real problem is her internalized transphobia and really she's a man that needs more drugs...

I think the problem with getting into federal politics is the sheer amount of money required to get a footing somewhere. Kek, it took decades for the greens and ndp to even get a seat. So any new right wing party would need:
a. a fuckton of funding (you can take your pick from russia, israel, china, maybe even india)
b. a concentrated campaign on a single riding (preferably rural, with a low voter turnout that can be boosted by party members)
c. avoid getting bombarded by CBC fearmongering and an RCMP investigation.

On top of that, it has become clear that liberals will simply just withhold resources from opposition riding, so the party would have to leverage its seat with either the conservatives or bloc to get anywhere and not just be ignored/iced out of the government before inevitably being voted out in the next by election via an influx of mainstream party funding. During all this mind you, the party must also deliver for its constituents to actually convice them to keep them around, which is hard to do when no one wants to touch the party in parliment.

The NDP have been around forever, they just go through waves of relevance.

The issue with a new party is that the political system is so locked down it is basically impossible to break in. The only time is when one of the parties, usually the Conservatives, goes through a collapse. The Bloc was the Quebec arm of the Conservative party for example.

Even breaking into a party is difficult as the riding associations are mostly closed and deeply incestuous. You can't just run in an open primary like the US. Most candidates are selected by acclimation. The few times there is a primary less than a hundred votes are cast.

Canadians do not participate in the political system to nearly the level the US does. Part of that is the randomness of elections. In the US everything is on a schedule so you know what to expect and when to expect it. Canada is basically lol whenever.

It's what gives me respect for Klein and (regardless of my dislike of her) Smith in Alberta. Klein in particular famously refused to leap into federal politics because he knew it was a completely different game and he stood little chance of translating his provincial popularity to the east. The reverse too seems cursed given how well the likes of Prentice and Kenney have played out as Premiers, or for that matter Rodriguez in Quebec. Only one who's somewhat made the switch work has been Bob Rae, but even then at best it's only seen him as interim Liberal leader.
