This Spring and Summer, the eastern provinces of Canada are being plagued by unusual wildfires.



Reuters reports that this has been caused by Quebec having an unusually dry Spring and low snowfall this past winter.

"Across Canada, some 2.7 million hectares have been scorched so far this year, equal to more than five million football fields, federal Minister of Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair told reporters on Thursday."

As someone that experienced the smoke and aftereffects of the Canada wildfires in NY (without saying too much on here), this was the first time in my young life where I witnessed the sun looking red while the entire sky was brown.

It looked like I was in a desert, and when I was driving, it just seemed like this was not your everyday smog.

Currently, it's starting to lighten up, but in the back it my mind I just could not help but troll people with "NYC is a shithole" jokes.

But admitting that more than a century of accepted forest management dogma is faulty is too much for the current crop of politicians, especially given it challenges their core beliefs. They'd rather just blame global warming and raise taxes instead.

Firestick-farming was practiced long enough in Canada for the forest there to become dependent on it. The Australian ecosystems are also dependent on it. You need to burn off the excess fuel regularly or bad things happen.
