This Spring and Summer, the eastern provinces of Canada are being plagued by unusual wildfires.

Reuters reports that this has been caused by Quebec having an unusually dry Spring and low snowfall this past winter.
"Across Canada, some 2.7 million hectares have been scorched so far this year, equal to more than five million football fields, federal Minister of Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair told reporters on Thursday."
The smoke has caused some apocalypse kino in New York:




Air quality alerts have been issued as far down the Eastern Seaboard as South Carolina, and as far inland as Kansas City, Austin, and Denver:
