Happy eat till you're fat day Canucks. Anyone doing their feast today? Im having the traditional fare with my family tonight, but tomorrow's the bigger treat. My friend has us over to his ranch every year, he has killed 2 of his chickens that just run loose, which are the size of small turkeys. He then cooks them in his wood fire oven, makes his bread from scratch (even grows and grinds the grains).

Plus I get the carcasses to make a shit ton of soup. It'll be chicken and dumplings later this week.

No feast this year. Family's all over the place and my parents just moved to a new house and are still unpacking. So we're going to a restaurant this year.

I offered to keep it small and roast a chicken at my place as an alternative, but it's going to be a restaurant.

Disappointed as I like cooking the bird. I'm the only one in the family who can do it right; half the family hasn't even heard of dry rubs.

I had poutine and beer in a bar, since I was in a dinky little town in the middle of nowhere and everything else was closed.

I'm just finishing the last of the turkey and dumplings I made with leftovers. Goddamn I love turkey dinners.
