My point is it isn't for the pedo but the victim. I can only speak for myself but letting out your hatred for the person who caused you harm is a helpful coping mechanism to empower and move on. It isn't a one-size-fits-all solution, but it's an option the victim can have. Unfortunately, this pedo is a coward, so that option is taken away from the victim and their parents.
Second, it ensures all victims' parents know what happened to their child and act accordingly. There may be more victims we do not know about, which I would highly suspect to be the case. You don't build confidence in such disgusting behavior unless you have done it several times successfully.
