Capcom General Thread - General Discussion? Griefing? There are already 8 other franchise threads

Dead Rising Remaster Remaster looks really good from what I've seen. They rebuilt the game from the ground up. Changing some of the old jank with some new jank. It seems more forgiving for new players by rebalancing the game without taking away things like op mini chainsaws. Some lines have been changed and erotic pictures don't count towards your experience but all in all seems like the soul of the original is still there. I'm most likely going to buy it.

The best thing I can think to say about current year Capcom is at least they're maybe slightly better than current year Konami. As far as I know Capcom at least still makes video games not just pachinko machines.
Oh trust me, Konami still makes games... really fucking bad ones, but they still make them.

Nevermind the constant BMIIDX/DDR/[insert music game here] shit they keep spewing out in their bland-ass factory (complete with event DLCs that are timed exclusive, mind you) but they also have these:

Notice how a good chunk of these are re-releases

And also these two coming out soon

Play it in an emulator and map the D-pad to the left stick and the L/R camera controls to the right stick. Despite being a little fiddly, it makes the game so much more intuitive that it's almost TOO easy because the devs weren't expecting you to be able to circle-strafe so quickly and accurately.
Yeah that would make sense to remap them like that. I really should get around to playing them I do enjoy 3d action-adventure type games.

I forgot konami did the metal gear games. I never really got into those and I've been seeing that Castlevania collection talked about a lot lately but I dismissed it because all the DS castlevanias are better emulated with hacks. I don't really count freemium shovelware as games but I guess you're right.

they could've at least had the decency to port the crusty PC versions of Silent Hill 2 and 3 to steam, the fact that they're still charging 40 dollars for that piece of shit homecoming is criminal

Is there a list?
Only changes I know of is the Rising Sun flag on one of the MVC1 stages changed to a more generic lined pattern, and the Punisher ending photo change. The Japanese comedian in MSHvSF is still there, as is the bathhouse section on the aformentioned Japanese MVC1 stage. Don't know anything about costume changes, Psylocke and Rogue look the same as they ever did to me.

It'll never happen. Nobody wants to admit the real reason aside from Fuck Inafune: Legends is actually the second worst-selling MM subfranchise.

The worst is ZX.
Megaman fans are too autistic to understand where it fits in gaming. Megaman was almost exclusively an American thing. It was the primary market and X kept it going in the 16 bit era. Once 3d took off they didn't know where to take the 2d platformer and then shooters became the big American genre and never lost focus. There's no longer a place for it and every Indie dev making a Megaman clone and barely breaking even shows how much of a market is left now. Basic platformers with bullshit to extend play time don't fit any where any more. Unless Megaman is made as rogue like or a mobile game it's just done. And that's fine. Not every series needs to go on forever.

That's removing the soul. Changing dialog and removing game features to appease DEI consultants is unacceptable. Dead rising always felt a bit sleazy and dirty, even if the camera mini game is terrible it should have remained intact.

The worst thing about Capcom is they're so close to being one of the best devs ever and they keep finding ways to fuck it up. If they removed the DEI and microtransactions you wouldn't have much to complain about. You have pretty good single player games with decent difficulty and a whole range of gameplay options to suit any play style. But then it's advertised by drag queens and half the unlockables are locked behind a pay wall to nickle and dime you.

It's feels that they removed it because of us amerimutts and how sensitive people are now. Capcom's biggest problems are microtransactions and trying to please everyone. Resident Evil 4 didn't need a remake, and my opinion wasn't that good but it sells. Whereas, Code Veronica needs a remake but no one but the core RE fanbase will buy it, like myself.

The gameplay is still the same, you can cheese the game the same with the added benefit of full voice acting and being able to do stuff while Otis talks to you. Some character models like Carlos look like action figures but others like Adam look really good. Zombies grab distance is insane, like you're playing Remake 2 so it's not perfect but the original wasn't either.

Why they removed it isn't important. I don't like companies carving parts off their game to appease tranny whiners. It is completely soulless even if the mechanic removed was in poor taste to begin with.

CV is fine. Remake these instead!

This is correct. Inti's Gunvolt, which is basically another run of MM Zero, barely sells and its main fans tend to just be lolicon-obsrssed coomers.

The most interesting MM game is the 30XX roguelike, which just so happens to have an MMX reskin mod. Which further proves your point.

Nobody but people who were already into basic platformers wants them anymore. It's either roguelikes or Metroidvanias. The fans are loud but don't spend unless it has a pet favorite character or something.

Most of these genre revival games are lolicon bait for coomers. They use the exact same character arch types and designs because they're down stream from anime and hentai. It puts a damper on so many good games when you know you're playing as someone's soon to be real doll.

Megaman fans haven't shut up since every one of their series died from lack of sales. Capcom milk them til the udder turns to dust and still Megaman fans are angry they don't get a Legends 3. When the Legends series goes for insane money in retro collection circles because no one bought any of the games released for it. Legends is only useful to Capcom as additional cross over characters for mobile games, DLC skins and throwing into the background of their 600 character anniversary posters every 5 years. I would really like another pre-rendered RE1-3 style game that isn't an annoying Indie game, but that ship has long sailed from Capcom. I'm not going to cry online for decades and pester them in every poll because we all know there's no return on investment there. Monster hunter and modern RE carry Capcom and they're not going to sacrifice anything for any other series.

Honestly as much as I'd like a new Megaman X game I'd be just as happy if they never made another one. The story got pretty stupid after the snes games and the gameplay got more and more gimmicky with each game. There doesn't really need to be any more.

I'm still into basic platformers. I've actually been trying to find some after burning myself out on metroidvanias for a while. I found a contra rip off for switch that emulates well that's pretty fun. I also enjoyed shovel Knight and the messenger when they came out. I also still play shit like super meat boy and the end is nigh. Sometimes it's nice playing newer platformers with modern qol features and not just emulating the same old games but I will admit the market for them is probably small.

Finally somebody other than me says it. This shit is so blatantly obvious to anyone with basic pattern recognition but nobody wants to admit it.

I'm still into basic platformers.
So am I because I can only stand so many Metroidvanias. The problem is that people need blatant padding bullshit to feel like their purchase was justified, as if they don't piss away far more money on other banal shit.

Padding is one of the worst things a game can add, it can ruin even good ones. Super Princess Peach is one of my favorite platformers but I never beat it and will probably never replay it because it requires you to get all the collectables to enter the final world and beat it (and it doesn't even tell you this until the end, then you have to go replay every stage just because you weren't collecting them). That shit should be reserved for bonus worlds, like in the Donkey Kong Country series (though I still hate having content locked behind annoyances).

I just want more Mega Man 9/10s like every 3 to 4 years. Shit Capcom rip off the Day in the limelight series and have some fun with the classic fmsweies.

And MegaMan Powered Up would have sold if it wasn't locked on the psp!

It's hard not to make fun of capbots when you unironically see posts like "Dead Rising Remake captures the spirit of the original perfectly!"
Then you wonder why you have actual drag queens or someone like Sphere Hunter representing the Western part of the fandom. I guess they fit the spirit of real women perfectly and that's good enough for Capcom!

I always wanted to play Powered Up but I chose the DS. What did I miss out on?
