Honestly back when I was a fan of him, that whole episode was weird but didn't phase me. In hindsight that was a major red flag, god I was stupid back then.

Next thing I knew of him was that he had decided to distance himself from the Alt-Right, probably to appear more normie friendly and marketable, trying to do something like what Milo was doing. However his way of declaring himself not an alt-righter was spamming black dicks on Twitter to alt-right people. I knew then and there he was a not very smart person.

He is now in a very awkward position due to being an advocate of free speech, while attacking other advocates of free speech for being too radical and still being lumped with them by detractors of both anyway.

It's like he wants to be a sanitized version of an edgy right-winger... except he still gets called a nazi and treated like one.

He's just a 90s left winger that wants to roll back the clock because the modern left have advanced past what he's comfortable with, he has no coherent or more in depth view of things than that. He's like a fat kid with a tummy ache that wants to be rid of that, so he can stuff himself full of ice cream again.

It is easy to see now just how much we would target low hanging fruit... You aren't the only one who regrets fallowing that donkey hole.

But honestly the biggest red flag was the stream he did with Milo and Jim. The amount of ass-kissing he did should have killed any respect we had for him. At least now we know.

I'm going to have to be that guy, but I was sure Carl was exceptional after the first few videos he did well before he started ranting and raving about Anita. His very first video was decent enough. It was just him pretty much saying he was probably going to do more stuff on YouTube. Maybe let off some steam in the process and talk a little history, that sort of stuff. Fast forward a few videos later, and I'm hearing him either describe certain people as Puritans in the most disgustingly stereotypical way possible or actually talking about the Puritans themselves and bitching and moaning about how they were so bad. That was my red flag. I easily got the sense he was probably just some anti-Christian pseudo-intellectual douchebag that was going to bitch and moan in the internet. The only thing I didn't predict then was people being stupid enough to not see through him long ago.

I started a video of his when cleaning or something or other to have background noise and eventually this one popped up. The point where he starts freaking out about women reading comic books about 5 minutes in was the exact point where I was unable to take him seriously anymore. I still watched This Week In Stupid for a while until it became nothing but shouting at news articles, but... let's be honest with those. The news agencies provided about 2/3 of the script for those


Sure, the lady has pink hair, but him calling a woman "piglet" for about 15 minutes sure doesn't help his case that he isn't a misogynist. Does she call herself that or is he really that bad?

There's also a Sargon account on f-list. No idea if it's Carl or not (edit: I wonder if it's Veeh's since they're created only a few days apart), but looooool if it is. Null apparently confirmed that the Vee f-list was indeed Veeh. Tried to archive but it only shows the adult content warning that comes up when you access the site.

I was a fan back then too but never knew about that little episode until recently. If I had known, I probably would have simply considered it childish with not much else thought. What leads a man into thinking that's a good idea? Probably his ego. He really isn't as smart as he thinks he is or else he wouldn't let his success, which was really just luck, cloud his judgment so.

I wonder if he is aware that his success was mostly just being at the right place at the right time and that his content isn't special...that he's not special.

I can only speak for myself, but I wouldn't be so quick to say that people didn't see him as a complete piece of shit due to stupidity, he's only in the past year-year and a half been acting like a hypocritical asshole. I agreed with his political views and didn't mind his acting like an asshat, but when he threw Harmful Opinions under the bus to save his buddies' asses after bitching and railing against the exact same "collectivist" shit that progressives were doing in gaming journalism was the first clear example (that I can recall) that showed he was a piece of shit.

I'd thought he was an idiot not to be taken seriously for quite some time... and while I was familiar with the candid/harmful drama, didn't really care about it. It was Rogan that got me to him being a hilarious idiot not to be taken seriously. You can almost hear the personification of Sargon's Disappointment whining "What? Joe doesn't want to talk about Anita for the full two hours???? On my streams, we'd do a full six hours!" during that
