Simply put, his ego got in the way and he thought his opinion mattered. If you can't think on your own, and you think you have enough clout that you can push other egotistics around is when your downfall happens.
Most of his videos (The "This Week in Stupid" vids, the Anti-Feminist vids, and a few others) were him stating his opinion on stuff, as one of the "commentary" YouTubers that survived after he latched onto the sacred cow of feminism, and what edgy jokes he made back then along with his edgy demeanor and accent built his fanbase. He let it go to his head, and it never left him, whatever. He still gets 100k or so views per video, so he's got enough people for his bubble to stay up.
When I first clicked on this video two and a half years ago, I couldn't bear to sit through Kevin Logan's a-logging of Sargon's failings because I was afraid that Kevin would have something to say about Sargon that actually made sense:
You could say the title applies to his YouTube career.
