Let's discuss Carl's Jr. (west-to-mid coast)/Hardee's (mid-to-east coast).

Also, my favorite item is the Western Bacon.

Haven't eaten them a lot because their locations are so rare. I like their swiss and mushroom burgers with poutine gravy though.

As fast food Hamburgers go, western bacon with a side of crisscuts fries is god tier cheat day junk food.

Speaking as a non-resident to the U of SA, wasn’t Carl’s Jr the outlet which ran provocative adverts starring various shameless whores fellating burgers and lubing up with ranch sauce?

I live in an area with a few Hardee's locations around me. The ones near my work are actually pretty good. The Mushroom & Swiss has been my go to for years. Though their Chicken & Waffle sandwich has been my crack lately, especially with extra glaze.

I tried them again recently in fact, for the first time in like 9 years.

It was ok, but not good enough to really justify going to the out of the way location it's at.

They’re my favorite of the big chain burger joints. Gotta love that western bacon cheeseburger, the Big Carl is really good too

Our local Carl's closed a year or so ago and I'm bummed because it was a combo Carl's Jr./ Green Burrito. Not only could you dip your fries and star nuggies into your milkshake, but you could also dip your tortilla chips and bean burrito in it like a true chad.

I remember way back Hardee's had this breakfast sammich that was absolutely a symbol of hedonistic decadence like no other.
1/4 pound sausage patty, bacon, eggs, cheese, on grilled sourdough bread. Thing had about 1,000 calories. Overkill, obviously, but the thing was goddamn fantastic.

5 bucks and I can get a two piece fried chicken and potatoes with drink. It's worth exactly that.

Most of the Texas stores closed a few years ago (a few still do exist, but almost exclusively in truck stops), so I only got to try it once (there were none in my part of the state). It does taste a little different than say, Whataburger or Wendy's, and some choices in burgers is nice, but I don't think it was really necessary.

Almost none of them were Green Burrito co-brand stores. The only co-brand store I know of opened in a small town outside of Austin, one of the early stores in the state, but everything else, including all of their Houston and Dallas stores, were just regular ones.

I tried an El Diablo today. Never had Carl's Jr. before. It was fucking amazing. Almost as good as Zippy's, which sadly closed down because of the stupid fucking COVID bullshit. I mean, it wasn't the best burger I'd ever had, but I would at least rank it as more than adequate. A solid 8/10. The patty actually had flavor and some char to it. Underrated!

I missed out on the gold digger burger because I was working in a non Carl's state when it was out.
And the LTO they decide to revive "forever" is the stupid mexican one.
