Yeah, that’s pretty much exactly what I was trying to say, appreciate it. I‘ve been seeing a lot of “Carson didn’t really do anything wrong” in a mix of places and I wanted to say “no, he absolutely did,” but that’s a far better way of saying it.
I should have said “age of adulthood” instead. The thing with laws about minors (that many people have already expressed) is that your brain doesn’t suddenly change when you turn 18, it’s really just an arbitrary distinction. But I still can’t find a way to defend a 19 year old soliciting nudes from a 17 year old because that’s deviancy. It’s just how it is.

I'll make my own prediction: Carson is going to make yet another big deal about his mental health after he comes back from an extended hiatus in a desperate attempt to garner sympathy. By that time he'll keep streaming as normal while constantly complaining about not having enough money or assistance with his content a la Projared. This continues until either he gives up completely within the next 2-3 years or he begins postings videos of himself rambling while copiously drinking. Tale as old as time.
Jschlatt seems like the only chill guy in this situation and I used to think he was fucking annoying [well, he probably still is]. Carson's intentions are starting to become more concerning now that Jschlatt said Carson has repeatedly continued this behavior even when he was getting the 'help' he needed.
Jschlatt typically has a habit of trying to be the loudest person in the room, but he's probably one of the most level headed and down-to-earth minecraft youtubers I can think of in a long time. The guy is also really talented at improv.

Tbh I entirely commiserate and the only reply to this thread, from an objectivity standpoint, should be "he didn't fuck up according to morality, but he did fuck up immensely according to the optics of the situation". It's incredibly common to confuse the two, from the perspective of even the most well-intentioned of writers.
