Blue Eye Samurai? What are your thoughts on the show? Because I got the impression that it was propped by grifters and was really woke and shit (to be fair some people use "woke" as a psyop)
I thought it was surprisingly great. If there's elements of 'woke', it's mostly period accurate shit (ie being seen as a freak because you're technically half white in a society that shuns anyone who isn't 100% Japanese in an era where foreigners were mostly not allowed.)

I know it sounds woke but it really isn't, I hate woke shit too yet I enjoyed this.

I'm telling you guys, we should make our own parallel animation industry. All we need to do is not make complete shit and we can fucking destroy modern-day Hollywood.
I mean look at people like Zach Hadel, Gendy Tartakovsky and Mike Judge
Can we get an adult cartoon that isn't unfunny shock humor and condescending surface level pseudo intellectual political commentary filled with pop culture references?
Smiling Friends, Primal, Spawn TAS, Xavier RA, King of the Hill, Heavy Metal, Rock & Rule and any Bakshi movie are good examples

Blue Eye Samurai is alright, except the tranny aspect is so goddam retarded. Every character sees this non-passing pooner and they ALL immediately treat her like it's a man. It takes you out of the show more and more every time it happens.

I honestly might give Blue Eye Samurai a fair shot

To be fair, that's a very common trope. Even historically, you had that happening a couple of times in Japan. Although the ladies in question were usually way more plain and easily overlooked than they're usually depicted in fiction.

>he doesnt realize the reason she keeps posing as a dude is because the last time she allowed herself to be one, it didnt end well
(also because its easier to pose as a male samurai than a female one, which were a thing, but it wasnt super common)

To drive that second point home, Samurai Champloo my favourite anime had only one prominent female samurai, Sara. But of course in the fictional world she is OP and one of the final samurai the cast have to fight off. Besides that there is a female ronin and Fuu, who can't even unsheathe her wakizashi.

That is to say, female warriors are really rare, that's what makes them special. The problem comes when they are not treated rightfully as women.

Perfect summary of the cartoon review community on YouTube. The same faggots that downplay Velma and Santa Inc only exist because those shows are leftist propaganda.
"CONSEVATIVES SUCK: LET ME TELL YOU WHY" version #17984108
Change the motherfucking record already. Someone makes fun of your (leftists') sacred cows, you (this retard) say "unfunny, didn't laugh - you suck :smug:" all while hiding how "not mad" you (this dingus & others like him) are.

Recently a guy by the name of Zach Mulligan, who worked as a VFX artist for Dreamworks and The Jim Henson Company released a video talking about the current state of the animation industry.
Finally got to watch this, and through his grating lispy voice, he's just literally reiterating what has been talked about here and in the Western Animation thread, as well as the strike thread in Happenings, so honestly no new information to be had there. And all I could think of was this:

Tough shit. Kick out the activists and the assholes who are only into live-action production and not animation, and make good movies against the AI that's threatening your job to prove you still have value. And cut that hair.

And according to some comments, even Canada, who was once considered a juggernaut in the animation industry, is cutting their losses with animation. They're just not turning a profit anymore, and the bonus of them not being unionized means it makes these layoffs all the more easier for them.

Walt Disney said it best as an artist and visionnaire:

Lazor Wulf was already a thing years ago and Pan gave it a glowing review; particularly noting the "hip" art style.
i remember there being something so weirdly bland and obnoxious about this show that i turned the episode i tried watching off about halfway through, its rare i do that with a show
