Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

This is even more bizarre.
Why are they making Rick and Morty porn? They're fucking French! They can draw!
I know it's different directors but keep in mind that Bobbypills was responsible for THIS

Thanks, Adi Shankar. (Yes, I know he just attaches his name to stuff. It's still funny.)
....and THIS!

Also, this show apparently has a very prophetic plot twist.
...and yes, Cartoon Network hired them to work on the new Gumball. Make of that what you will.

E: I've also just found out that Balak has a Newgrounds account

Basically, Conan the Barbarian is more something boys can see themselves as, instead of whatever the name of the character from Hopper is.
Is there anything that interests boys beyond gay porn buff shirtless guys fighting each other? I'm on Our Side™ of the debate here, don't misunderstand me, but all of this "none of this appeals to boys" talk over time is really starting to make it feel like the only stories boys like are unga bunga nigger caveman stories where big meaty guys punch each other and maybe save a hot booby woman in the process.

This is sort of a return to pre-2010 Hollywood ideas about entertainment, which is to say, assume the audience is actually retarded and pander to their basest impulses.

That's not all boys like. Boys also like stories where big meaty guys fight each other swords and maybe save a hot booby woman in the process, stories where big meaty guys shoot each other with guns and maybe save a hot booby woman in the process, and stories where big meaty guys compete against each other in sports and maybe impress a hot booby woman in the process.

Dinosaurs... Robots... Spies... Astronauts...
Basically, anything that isn't about a bunch of vaginas leaking.

I'm convinced at this point that How to Train Your Dragon was the last time there was a positive male role-model in a family feature even though that fanbase is mostly dominated by women. It's a literal miracle Hiccup was able to actually grow up into a man over the course of the trilogy and Astrid was still feminine.

I can think of some movies since the original HTTYD (2010) that had decent male leads. Big Hero 6 had Tadashi, Coco had Hector, Soul had Joe Gardner...idk, I could see a case for them not counting too. I guess it depends on what it means to be a positive male role model, and also
anything that isn't about a bunch of vaginas leaking.
wherever the hell this^ line is, because one person's "vaginas leaking" could be someone else's "not woke enough," and I don't know what the average cutoff point is.

Boys like comedy, often preferring harsh and dark comedy. They like hard science, technology and motor vehicles. They like winning, improving and debating who would win. They like collecting. They like discovering something new or hidden. They like loyalty and being able to take shit. They like cool animals. They like music and sound effects. They like caricatures and more exaggerated designs with strong contrasts. They like elements that are scary and gross.

Edit: Forgot to mention but boys love being the hero and rescuer but also the thief and destroyer. Cool heroes and cool villains are both a selling point witch why anti-heroes tend to be popular too. Basically you want good vs. evil with some nuance rather endless debates what's evil anyway?

Let me spell it out for you.
We don't want stories about people crying and "getting in touch with their emotions" and having realistic panic attacks.
It's perfectly fine to have pathos, we don't want a quippy zero-stakes mess.
I just don't want the urge to atomic wedgie the main characters while yelling "SHUT UP!".

Would Bandit from Bluey (the Dad) be a positive role model for boys?

To any fans of Wild Robot, Hoppers has surpass it in the box office.

Really not a surprise; nobody banked on the Pixar cute beaver movie getting its ass whooped by the artsy melancholy movie by Dreamworks. Still kind of amazing that it’s only able to say that after a month in the box office… and with the kids out on Spring Break, too

Miles Morales, I guess? Hes at least popular with actual male watchers. But just taking a prexisting comic superhero might be cheating.

Only the first movie at best. In the second he's an annoying brat that the secondary villain's reasons for hating him are right. For extra hilarity, his voice actor is also annoying.
Oh, and he got his stuff by killing a blonde, blue eyed hero with lots of money ala Batman, kek. Accidentally at least.

All the parts of the Invincible show that you fast-forward through if you're over 27 are pretty solid and "good for the kids". I was annoyed at first how instructional they were making all the talking-about-feelings scenes, but I can see how that's actually an important service they might need to provide based on the other shit available for males aged 15-25 right now. I just wish I didn't have to sift through so much court-ordered anger management training to see BATTLE BEAST fuck shit up.
Don't get me started on the horrific budget allocation wrt the technical aspects of the animation, though.

I was talking about Miles, the Spiderblack. Not Invincible, which I haven't bothered watching and it's not worth it.

kek I was responding with another example but maybe I should have quoted Kari's post instead of yours.
