Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

I have a sincere question: why do all of these fuckers obsess over prom night as if it's this grand right of passage that separates children from adults? The music sucks, no one can dance, and the only action one can hope for is sloppy oral.
Because they've missed out on it, obviously.

The new deal for animation thing would never work out in Japan. People would either get laughed out or get fired for not working enough.

No mention of Butch Hartman? This guy worked on various shows for Nick starting in the late '90s including The Fairly Oddparents and Danny Phantom. He's a bit of a Christian whackjob of the sort that believes that things like autism can be cured through prayer. A few years ago, he Kickstarted what was supposed to be a Christian-friendly Netflix alternative called Oaxis and raised over a quarter million dollars, but the project looked sketchy from the start and ended up never materializing. Slope's Game Room covered it.

Yeah, it's like the guy turned into Derek Savage, minus the giant orange cat running around

The union movement is the people in the industry are trying to get artists and animation writers better pay from what I've read about that.
Honestly, can you blame these animators given how the wage-fixing scandal was a thing for decades and the animators of Sausage Party were paid so poorly? The writers, though, are gonna get reality slapping them upside the head pretty soon.

i actually kinda agree with them on all of that, plus i'm surprised Ed Catmull and Greg Tiernan were never federally investigated for all that shit they pulled.

Also, in other Nickelodeon related news, Patrick's old parents returned recently in a new Spongebob episode that was leftover from last year.

It took them years but they are back. What episode is this from?

damn interesting
Yeah, apparently they completely changed them because they wanted more entertaining characters.
It's another fucking prequel, this time about Patrick living with his family and hosting his own TV show from his bedroom.

They retconned his parents, Herb and Margie, from "I'm with Stupid."

It's allegedly because they were boring as characters and not fun or entertaining compared to Cecil and Bunny.

and that's just ridiculous...

That is beyond weird
Maybe it was some sort of late edition, if so... it certainly doesn't help the show any better.

LS Mark recently made a video on Kamp Koral and The Patrick Star Show, and i think he does a pretty good job at summarizing the problems with both of these shows, along with Modern Spongebob

That is pretty cool and ouch on Patrick's retcon on and off again parents

Yeah, i also think Mark was definitely right about the constant references to older episodes and the various memes, it was okay the first few times, but now it's starting to get extremely repetitive to a point where it feels like they're trying way too hard to appeal to these types of people.
