Since the MS paint drawing is similar to Dirk's piece. I actually wonder if Dirk saw that and said 'i can do WORSE than you autistic idiot!" and ended up producing that drawing. Dates apart they're both similar since they have a beheaded boots and Johnny test puking. Oh and all of that jibberish that this DA user is saying hasn't been proven. He's crazy.

Huh? No, Dirk's piece came out in 2014.

Not to mention that Pixar has slowly been devolving into doing lame pop culture humor type crap whereas Pixar used to be famous for avoiding that as opposed to DreamWorks who would always do that.

Old Pixar wouldn't be caught dead making a twerking scene like Turning Red did. Let alone the fact that the one twerking was a 13 year old girl.

Most of nu-Pixar movies feel like something from either DreamWorks, Sony or Blue Sky, and not from Pixar of all studios, and even then that's insulting these three studios because when they make good movies, they really do make good movies. Pixar, being part of a giant corporation, rely more on products than quality, the latter is what Pixar was eyeing for in the first place.

Dreamworks but not good Dreamworks, bad Dreamworks, Over the Hedge Dreamworks.

Turbo was meh and forgettable. Shrek 3, Shark Tale, and the Trolls movies are better comparisons (inb4 someone goes "Trolls is for preschoolers, it don't count!").
Those as well, I just used Turbo as one of the examples. Don't forget to add in Home, the Boss Baby movies, or that shitty Spirit movie released just over a year ago and was forgotten about.

I forgot about that new Spirit movie that doesn't look like it was even done in-house, but honestly, Home was okay, I think it's a decent kids' movie. Boss Baby isn't good, but I don't think it was bad, either (the sequel was really weird, though, but maybe not in a good way), there was some imagination put into it when you remember the main character we're following is like seven years old. What makes it bad is that it became a franchise when there's really no need for a franchise to be made from it, but by then, DreamWorks was in the middle of an acquisition, and it's pretty obvious their new overlords demanded a franchise to be made because it had turned a profit.

I always felt bad for DreamWorks in the 2010s. You could tell they wanted to really make their own identity after a decade of being anti-Disney and integrating pop culture-of-the-now into their movies (they still do it, but YMMV on the cringe) while still holding on to not being of the norm in thinking outside the box. They had a shot, too, but they sadly weren't turning profits from the movies that were actually good but no one went to see. I'm still sad about the labor of love that is Mr. Peabody & Sherman being a flop, and I'm still miffed that Me and My Shadow will never come to fruition.

Fuck off, Over the Hedge wasn't that bad. If you wanna compare a bad DreamWorks movie, try something like Turbo.
Never watched Turbo, mostly because at that point movies like Over the Hedge had turned me off of Dreamworks and I actively avoided their movies until How to Train Your Dragon came out.

When I was told by a co-worker about both Turning Red and Luca, those both sounded more like something that'd come from Dreamworks and Blue Sky respectively. Yet the premises themselves ended up both on Pixar's lap. Both movies look uninspiring since they do look like they are coming from the crew of Steven Universe trying to mimic Miyazkai in CG, except both come across as them 'not getting it' on what made miyazkai's stuff good in the first place.

Luca had more heart put into it, though, because the director definitely took after his childhood with a friend he had made in Italy, and I liked the setting of Luca. Yeah, I had Ghibli vibes, but they were pretty good vibes and the human designs were what you'd expect from Pixar. Turning Red was just boring "female puberty" shit with bland character designs, and the director's head was way far up her ass.

Luca still sucked donkey balls.
