It's because western culture is so infantilised. Do you remember being 12? Hearing kids on the playground talk about how Digimon is way better than Pokemon and becoming legitimately angry? How could they say such a thing? How could they be so wrong?

Being unreasonably passionate about dumb shit is part of growing up. It's how we practice caring about things that actually do matter. Only, most of the population doesn't grow up. They stay in that phase forever. Consoomer slop is their lives, just like it was when they were in grade school. And it will continue to be their lives forever.

In other words, how could someone care about things that matter if nothing in their life matters?

I got into some short arguments with this, yet I truly believe this is what happens when you refuse to grow up (as you correctly stated) and especially remove a close family structure and a faith in God from the lives of people in general. Then it seems we have plenty of "Adulteenagers" who like to enjoy their lives and only are ready to settle down by the time they are 50, or sometimes don't live long enough by then. Those who like to party like university students usually don't, while those who are "kids on the inside" do.

And with the emptiness in the inside of faith, they occupy with everything else. That's why you have weird shit like this. It's honestly sad. "Nothing else matters".

I'll admit to taking way too long to grow up. Basically just played vidya in my room all day every day for years. I was never happy despite having my "dream life".

A sense of purpose and fulfillment is mandatory for human happiness, whatever it is. Raising children, constructing buildings, making furniture. It has to be something you're tangibly putting into the world. And no, wageslaving for the Kill All Humans Corporation in hopes that this year you'll get an extra big raise doesn't count.

I do wonder, how much money does animation bring in nowadays? I feel like if the industry is turning in a profit this wouldn’t be an issue they need people to whine on social media for. And even, then, those contract might trim a lot of fat in the guild even if they’re deemed ‘fair’. So while for every 30 people get good cushy jobs, 300 get screwed over.

If I was one of these companies, I would just put it to bed by releasing the books that pertain to their animation, and saying “This is how much you cost and here’s how much you made.“ it’s risky, because if animation is a net negative, shareholders will ask what the fuck is going on, and who greenlit these projects, but then the question becomes, what’s the alternative? You keep these fuckers around, hemorrhage more money on shit no one wants to watch, and pray that maybe there’s a hit? And then hope that the hit doesn’t go to everyone’s head and they turn it into more slop that gets critically acclaimed but then loses viewers?

A show that been a major failure for both Netflix and adult swim. Don't really understand why they focused on making a big hashtag on social media and absolutely 0 mentions about their petition. I actually had to watch it twice to see that they actually made a petition for it.

I'm just baffled by all this. All these VAs, all the well-known animators, and what do they have to show with it? A bunch of tweets from tumblrinas and yaoi fanart of the 2 main characters? Give me a break.

I love how after basically trying to gaslight & memory-hole the fact that Korean sweatshops from both sides kept the "animating" part of the industry alive, in the last propaganda PSA. Now, we have have a bunch of retardation far surpassing it. To name a few things:

1: The AI boogeyman is still retarded cause the technology is still not up to the point of basic video making whatsoever, let alone animation. These retards don't understand that it's not just shit working at the press of a button, you need to do some essential virtual tard-wrangling necessary to get desired results. At least, at the moment, someone literally needs to prompt per frame each for it to work. Mind you, that still may not work considering things like consistent animation style & other nuances being barriers to it.

2: If the shit posted in this thread are even the most bare-minimum, surface-level shit possible of what these people make on their own, then I'll use even that as an example for breaking the fingers of everyone in this industry so they can never draw. I'd rather take the AI over intentional, purposefully "man"-made (let's be honest, none of them will never be a woman) uglyness.

3: The sheer hubris of these narcissistic, self-absorbed, cry-bullies legitimately thinking that animation as a whole just starts & ends at America, even though the kids it was originally made for mainly watch anime & read manga nowadays, & the man/womanchildren that were pandered since the last decade also watch the most hyped (mainly shonen), anime nowadays. This is not even getting Canadian shows, Australian shows, or European stuff like French cartoons (Sally Bollywood my beloved), etc.

Let's just say we can have a thread on this website with just the loser storyboard artists without running low on new content. siamystery is not only a failure that didn't last long in the Hollywood animation scene. She blames Clownfish TV for stalking her and causing her to lose her job to AI.

I'm still skeptical about the idea of another Trump victory, but that aside....

I remember this EXACT gay ass rhetoric about how shitlibs would "bully Biden's administration" into doing what they wanted them to do. Did that happen? Nope! Just disappointment all around from them learning he was another establishment Democrat. What was the most he did, appoint that bald tranny who later got caught stealing women's clothes?

I wouldn't at all be surprised if this all is because a bunch of adult-children needing """counseling""" on animation because they need a "massive" distraction from world issues: Wars and an election going on, and they "can't take the pressure".
