They were theatrical shorts, and they were played in front of anything, essentially. Disney might've been the first to make animation more family-friendly, though the Hays-Code was forcing everyone to adhere to strict standards. So a character like Betty Boop became less of a sex icon as a result, which hurt her popularity.
Basically this. Going to the theater wasn't just for movies at the time these shorts came out--a lot of people went to see news reels during WWII. I imagine the lizard one would have played later at night or was made to appeal to soldiers stationed over seas like Private Snafu. It wasn't until the 60's with the rise of TV that cartoons were seen as only children's media.

Also (since I caved and watched it with a friend) that short is barely even vore, I'm gonna be real with you. Apparently, the point of vore is the sexual pleasure the eatee gets from being swallowed whole and alive, and the eater also getting pleasure from feeling the eatee squirming around--suggesting they might get spit back up later on because it's part of the sexual experience. The otters were all fucking terrified as they were being swallowed whole (which were some of the worst animated parts btw lmao), and they absolutely were digested alive or at least just stopped moving once swallowed, no sexual pleasure there except for the sharks who I guess eat to get horny. Something tells me Grant doesn't actually know what true vore even is.
I hate to tell you this, but there is a sizeable portion of the Vore community that like something called "Hard Vore" and it's pretty much just being into eating living things and them suffering. Usually the more violent the better.

God-fucking-damn it, I should've known. You have these kinds of sadistic freaks everywhere, of course there'd be a niche inside a niche.

Kind of off-topic. Idk what is happening to ppl's minds. These last few years, destroying property and burning cars is viewed as benign--like it doesn't count as a riot--to onlookers. A few years ago people would instead gaslight others that property damage (see: rioting) wasn't actually happening despite the copious evidence. Now it seems no one tries to downplay it anymore, opting instead to say it's, "actually a good thing! And here's 10 reasons why..."
It's the Narcissist's Prayer.

Same goes for Total Drama and other Canadian slop-shows inserting farts for whatever god knows reason. Once is a coincidence, 3 times is when you should raise your eyebrow, 5 or more is when everyone on the team should be burnt alive at the stake.
Don't forget the episode from the reboot that's just all the characters farting for ten minutes.

And I do agree, generally. So many things can file under a fetish, that if it shows up just once I assume it's sincerely just for a joke or plot element. Like hypnosis, it's such a common plot device, unless it's happening in every other episode of a show, I'm not gonna assume it's a fetish.

Oh fuck no. (Archiving with archive.is too, will update with link when its done)

Since Steven Universe helped codify media for the "modern audience", would a "modern"/10-20-years-later reboot cancel out the stuff that made it so notable online in the first place? As in a "modern" Steven Universe reboot wouldn't be gay?

Wonder how it will feel for the Tumblr generation to have their childhoods ruined for once.

Honestly the show getting mini series (I'm assuming that's what this is since Adventure Time has had some) makes sense. Concept art released after the show ended had a lot of ideas involving the off colors that didn't get used due to time constraints. Only way they could fuck this up is forcing Steven to be the main character again. That was the biggest flaw in SU's writing--demanding we see everything from Steven's POV when it isn't necessary.

This is all to say is that cautiously I do think an animation renaissance is on the horizon for the individual artist but until that proves viable, AI is still just a funky little tool/toy that makes splotchy, watery imagery and video
I have seen it done with cucos, "a love letter to LA", but we still have one problem. Needing a good enough PC to be able to run any of that. Certain Comfy UI workflow and maybe krita diffusion are both the only tools I've seen that could help an artist out. But in both of those, you need a decent PC to run. Cloud gpu service can get pretty steep in price for what I've seen. With Krita, you can edit the settings.json file and add some things to the server argument section to make it work okay while running on the CPU, along with a small canvas that you upscale later. Comfy UI itself? I haven't really seen any solution yet.

Not only that, I know that these corpo niggas are going to copyright AI-generated work and screw you over for using it. I can see that for Disney and people keep thinking I'm crazy for saying it, but they're not only nails deep into current copyright law, they're also known to play dirty. Remember that one situation involving a child's casket? These companies are the definition of rules for the people and not for me.

At least this might fuck over rule 34 culture.
