There have always been stories about out casts using their special talents to save the day and end with everyone accepting them despite their differences.

Some times lazy writers will replace the skill with some innate character trait, like Rudolf was just born with a red nose. There’s no real reason why the other characters don’t like him but atleast they told a cute story and while entirely fantastical, a built in headlight would be useful to Santa. It subverts the moral of the underlying story but it makes logical sense and is full of the type of saccharine Christmas magic that people generally enjoy.

I think scarabs are cool, but the only trait left in this character is the part that becomes disturbing when anthropomorphized to the extent that the character goes to elementary school. But most importantly, there will never be a mystery solved by eating shit. They could have had him clean up the Savannah or katamari something and then everyone accepted the dung dung bettle for what he is.
But nope. He just eats shit.

Oh no it's another one of those media. It's getting to the point that these "outcast but has a sooper speshul niche skill" protagonists are getting too cliche for me. Isekai stories are also filled those too.
Everytime I see these Hollywood projects be uncreative and shitty (lol) I'm more agreeable to have these artists be replaced by soulless AI slop.
