And having Male characters get pregnant apparently...
I mean, Fairy oddparents and Fish Hooks did it first and didn't require an entire batch on painfully unfunny episodes revolving about that character giving birth

Now that I think about it, Ruka's ideas for the show weren't so bad

So by comparing both of their art side by side...

That is shmorkycore

There have been so many pilots coming out, I might make a bingo card. Any suggestions?
  • Relatable 20-somethings doing nothing
  • Sketchy/unfinished art style
  • Overt references to inspiration(s)
  • "what if kids cartoon...BUT SEX AND SWEARING HAHA"
  • genderspecial VA who doesn't sound like their character's sex at all

i saw this get posted on /co/ can someone here confirm that this is michael ruocco (looney tunes, cuphead show, hazbin hotel, patrick show, bojack horseman,) not trying to make another shmorky situation with him being a diaper fetishist https://bsky.app/profile/juiceboxart.bsky.social
Kind of a late reply, but there's another cartoon creator that supposedly has a diaper (or at least scat) fetish, that being Vincent Waller of Ren & Stimpy and Spongebob fame. A lot of the guys in spumco-adjacent communities crack jokes about it mainly because he has Trump hate art that depicts such imagery.

There's also the fact that episodes of cartoons he's worked on over the years have diaper themed episodes. The most notable example being Big Baby Scam from Ren and Stimpy which was entirely written and directed by him, it of course features the duo predominately in diapers. (no other episodes feature him in that significant of a role)

Keep in mind that this is just speculation and that hasn't been proven unlike Michael's case. But like I said, it's so notable that it became an inside joke among niche online communities that surround the shows he's most involved with.

It's been brought up here before, it's way too much of an occurrence to be a coincidence at this rate.
I figured it probably was, I guess the nature of gross out cartoons ends up bringing in people who genuinely get off to that kind of thing and that it's always existed in the shadows. The only difference is artists just put far less effort into hiding it like they used to. There are a couple other spongebob guys such as Ian Vazquez who are into weird fetishy stuff, mainly fat chicks. But I don't know if that was already discussed as well

Not at all. If you know of any others working on SpongeBob who have fetishes, please list them, it's become very obvious they're pushing their sick material onto children.

Like with Vince an alt hasn't been found with Ian, but these are on his Bluesky, so take that as you will

Gonna be fair that that's relatively tame especially for a furry (is he a furry?). That there's to be expected with a cartoonist, and there's a smidgeon of humor to be found, which fetish material doesn't have.
He does have a "buff" girl character named "Blair Gritstone" that is fetishy, but yeah, it seems like it's more so a cartoony fascination with traditionally non-attractive women then it is full fledged fetishism like with Waller and Rouoco. There are lots of cartoonists who do such work. Most notably Frenando Botero

Giant muscle girls with tiny heads just make me think of JollyJack on DeviantArt, he always made giant muscle girls with tiny heads to imply that's how big their muscles became; they grew but the head didn't, so it looks puny in comparison. It makes sense but it always looks so funny as a result. These weird tiny hands and feet must be the same thing.

Call me crazy. People seem to be tired of demons being misunderstood gay heroes. We are seeing this in Disney's The Owl House and Vivziepop's Hazbin Hotel. The success of K-pop, demon hunters, and the new Demon Slayer movie shows that audiences are getting tired of demons being portrayed as good guys.

Maybe because there's a lot more you can do with something as simple as "this character defeats a demon" than "actually this demon is like super deep and like so philosophical cause it shows how not all demons are like mean bro they're so misunderstood and deserve to be treated equally as angels" or whatever.

No one except people who read too hard into things care about such things. Here's the thing, though. You can make a demon sympathetic without reaching to the "misunderstood MEAN guy who didn't MEAN to do this/that thing FEEL BAD FOR ME!!" territory. IIRC, didn't KDH achieve that with one of the main villains?

You can absolutely go, "Yeah, that sucks." when a demon gives a genuine excuse to the audience on why they should be perceived under a sympathetic light while still acknowledging the demon's an unrelenting prick. But that's the thing, WE, the audience shouldn't have to acknowledge that before the demon itself does. If on a different case, we shouldn't be told TO be sympathetic.

I am not going to feel sympathy for the quirky Lucifer with muh depression and anxiety. They're meant to be evil - unforgiving. But that's where Hazbin Hotel and HB fails at. That need to make us feel bad for literal sins that's meant to be showcases of the worst of the human spirit. To make us feel bad for literal demons that got to Hell under their own behavior and merits.

I honestly cannot trust any show that tries to make demons these "dindu nuffin" wrong archetypes. Maybe from a random unaffiliated demon or a sinner actually willing to acknowledge their sins and desire to become better? Sure, fine. But a Deadly Sin and Lucifer themselves? Get right off the podium.

While you may be on to something, using Demon Slayer as one of the big examples I don't think really counts since it's been a very popular anime out here since it first aired and I think this (movie) arc has been hyped up bigly.
It's extremely hyped up. The movies aren't standalone and this is the climax of the whole story, so it's very exciting for fans to see on the big screen. Afaik Demon Slayer actually ENDS after this, which is pretty rare for massively successful anime shonen series.
