Why can't we have stories where the mc happens to be asian and instead of making asian an entire focal point of their identity? I feel like so many shows would be better that way.

These all explored identity just as much as Raya or the red panda period piece but even the weaker series were somewhat watchable because all of that came second to making a kids cartoon

Fascinating. The example show is adult animation. It looks like shit because it’s just the creator passive aggressively venting about their own neuroses. And here we are comparing it to mediocre family shit, saying that that stuff is better because it still had to be a family adventure story, bullshit or no.

It’s highlighting the fact that there isn’t anyone pulling the chain in on adult programs. They seem to have free rein to be as self indulgent as they care to. Nobody is telling them, fuck you, just be a sitcom/cop show/soap opera/whatever. And they’re the worse for it.

I think we are seeing why grown ass adults are still watching children’s programming on such a huge scale. It’s the only stuff with any modicum of quality control

It must be a second generation thing. Asians don’t seem to have this problem in Asia. Are there any actual anime about this stuff? Even in Spy x Family they like and respect each other.
I mean some mainstream anime have stuff about family/generational/etc trauma but its usually a side plot and not the main one (like BNHA) and its usually not as whiny (esp since the trauma is usually something more severe than mere tension) and also involves a lot more serial killers typically.
Like attack on titan has plenty of complex toxic family relationships but thats not as noteworthy when theres also literal giants eating people.

Fruits Basket is a popular one that I think is primarily focused on family trauma though.

Observe the originality: an Asian American cartoon addressing gender-related trauma and mother issues..
I don't know how to tell the ABCs (American-Born Chinese) this, but your family trauma is not that special, or unique, or really all that bad, honestly. Mama wanted you to get straight A's and Daddy didn't want you dating white boys. So sad. Shut up.

Guess an entire month isn't enough for some people.

What Pantone number is that they use for most of their characters. It looks like calcified dog turds. Why do they do that?

I wonder what group is pushing for more dedicated days and months, blacks or trannies? And I'm surprised the upper forces haven't starting to push more Indian/Muslim dedicated days and months yet.

Goat at most break even but /co/ thought this movie would outgross Zootopia 2 because of the black culture aspect.
are we seriously pretending zootopia 2 earned this level of praise like it crawled out of the trenches and saved animation or something it grosses a ton and suddenly people act like that’s proof of quality since when did box office mean anything disney movies print money too that doesn’t mean every single one is flawless the worst part is the ugly characters of this movie and a better plot sorry i expected something tighter something that wasn’t just “remember the first one?“ half of it feels inflated for the sake of being a sequel. more side characters for automatic clout but they look like shit assholes too nobody cares about like the snake for example who represents black people, a racism allegory? that’s not how this works at least goat can be considered a real black people movie to avoid not just making people snakes like zootopia 2

Meanwhile, The Bad Guys 2 has been seemingly forgotten, even though that one at least doesn't mock the main character for being male and straight, a rarity in Current Year (to the contrary, there's even a bit of romance). Sure, he's a wolf terrible at close fighting, but that seems to be his main flaw and part of a gag.

Niggers: Mayne *smacks lips* ts sheeit be buck broken bitch shit 'n sheeit
Furrys: Sports is facism

Now, introducing, the real Blakk movie:
Fuck. It already came out last year.
Oh God, this movie.
If you want a quick explanation of this movie, think Toy Story if it were made by black people and managed to have uglier human characters than the first movie, from 1995.

If you want to find a way to watch this movie without embarrassing yourself, I recommend Jlongbone's riff on this movie.

Considering how "Progressive" Disney has been over the past decade, I'm more surprised they didn't make this movie.
But then I remember... they pretty much did with Sneakerella, the rule 34, modern, black version of Cinderella.

I watched Sneakerella some time ago, it was cute. They should've called it "Sneakerfella" though, that's my big complaint. That and the stepbrothers make me want to strangle them.

My daughter has come to adore Bluey and we've just learned the movie is meant to be releasing around the same time she will be old enough to go to the theatre. I can't wait to be honest. Watching it with her after dinner has become the highlight of my day.

So that new Hopper movie doesn't have woke stuff in it, according to op and is causing the wokies to melt down. For example, the person who quoted-tweeted this.
And here's more examples of people raging at this. To be honest, I have no intrest in watching this movie so I could be wrong if there's no woke shit in it. I don't know.
