Casey Chen / Lumin City - “fursuiter” and “videomaker” banned from every furry event across several states for constant autistic stalking

Sorry, I thought this was already moved. It's to the standard necessary to be placed into Animal Control.
thanks, fam :semperfidelis:
Please don't, "bury the lead," OP.

Lead with the meat of the content.
somebody suggested something similar to me in a DM earlier, and I've been making small tweaks to this over the last few days. I thought for organizational reasons, it made more sense to keep the YouTube part and the irl parts together, but I think alternating between them would help the flow a lot.

Lumin appears to have a BlueSky account, albeit not posting at all to the platform currently.

Putting tape over the laptop camera after plastering cringe and detailed over sharing posts online is so mind numbingly stupid that it circles back into being funny.

Like breaking a leg but you put a band-aid on it to make it better.
It's more like putting a condom on to fuck a vat of radioactive waste

Well the idea is that it’s a completely futile precaution. He‘s not trying to salvage something already destroyed.

Lumin dropped a new video, "the furry fandom is broken. We'll fix it". I'm currently out of town and I've not watched it yet, but I wanted to mirror this just in case he deletes it.

Public shaming has exposed the best and worst of the fandom and the internet. It was first used to establish societal norms in small communities. However, it's resurfaced with the rise of the internet and social media. While it has helped expose criminals, it has negatively impacted a lot more whether the accusations were true or not.

This video is a message for the fandom and the internet that reckless public shaming has consequences. Not only on the accused, but those that are associated with them, often with potentially deadly consequences. As a fandom, we need to come together to hear both sides and establish beyond a reasonable doubt through police investigation before publically shamming them.

I finally had enough time to sit down and write one of my effortposts where I overanalyze the shit out of something. I'm going to break this down into two parts: timestamps of notable moments, and my general analysis.

Part 1: Video Summary

0:00 In the literal first fifteen seconds, he brags that since he’s 18, he’s now allowed to attend conventions and look up furry porn without parental permission (I honestly thought you were joking @The Homelander but he did indeed say that). He also mentioned he managed to attend SIX conventions in 2023. That number is a bit surprising to me given his age and the fair amount of financial investment needed to attend one furry convention in a year, let alone six.
00:35 Whining about the slap-fight BlueFolf had with ValidLs on and off for most of the year.
00:53 Claims his channel is about spreading positivity, not shitty rant videos.
01:08 States he graduated high school and went to college right after Furrydelphia (late August). Seems to have had a hard time getting acclimated to the dorms, and vented to others online.
01:22 It sounds like he made venting comments that were concerning enough that someone reported Lumin to his local police and a welfare check was done, resulting him him being taken to the hospital. He complained the hospital was understaffed and staff allegedly took his cell phone when he wouldn’t stop complaining to them.
01:40 Lumin went to a meet at his university’s Furry Club, telling a bizarre story where he set a water bottle next to a poster, at which point someone called the cops on him for harassing them, and he was taken away by police, causing him to miss a week of classes. There’s most likely more to the story than Lumin is letting on because I refuse to believe the cops arrested him solely for setting a water bottle on a table.
01:52 Lumin’s professors were somehow homophobic to him by not granting him any leeway on the assignments he missed.
02:05 Dropped out of college in late September, barely a month after starting. :(
02:19 Tripp’s stalking callout was more traumatizing than dropping out of college or multiple run-ins with police over poor mental health. :story:
02:50 “I denied stalking them, as I was attempting to take a picture with BlueFolf, their friend who was also in the room next to mine.”
03:09 “It’s unclear whether it would meet the legal definition of stalking, as it was one time, and no threats were made that could cause fear for a normal person.”
03:22 Whining that a lot of furries distanced themselves from him. He admits he vented about it in an unspecified discord server and someone leaked it to Tripp.
03:52 “I was worried there would be physical and/or verbal threats against me at the con. Despite this, it didn’t happen”. Whined that Tripp complained to Furpoc staff for letting Lumin volunteer (not that it mattered since it sounds like the staff let him work anyway). Brags about doing a whopping nine hours of volunteer work spread out across a three-day convention (an extremely tiny amount by Furcon volunteer standards). Whines that Crusader Cat and someone wearing a Free Fur All t-shirt were at Furpoc.
04:06 Whining that Furpoc staff didn’t ban Crusader or the other guy even though he asked them to multiple times. Then claims “an attempted assassination on my life” happened on November 17th.
04:20 Lumin describes the incident as him sitting at home on his computer, when all of a sudden a SWAT team showed up and demanded he open the door, believing he had shot himself with a firearm. He immediately gets his parents to talk to the police for him.
04:34 “Luckily, the police knew me personally and were able to realize that I was unarmed and wasn’t going to unalive”.
05:16 Plays the autism card and says he’s been going to therapy for years.
05:31 Rambling about Cancel culture/public shaming and this incident is somehow Elon Musk’s fault for buying Twitter.
06:34 Complaining that he made several negative videos on other furry YouTubers and they continued to gain subscribers.
06:53 His harassment is somehow Big Tech’s fault. He doesn’t elaborate any further so I have no idea what he is talking about. Says getting his fursuit was one good thing that happened this year.
07:08 Plans to make a separate video devoted to how his fursuit maker treated him.
07:26 ”I’m fighting to beat the loneliness epidemic, reduce wealth inequality, and form a more inclusive society through my platform. It's time for real change!” wow

Part 2: My armchair psychology analysis:

It is evident that Lumin is facing challenges related to mental health, and there is a degree of sympathy toward his circumstances, considering he may not have full control over the conditions he was born with. However, there is a lack of empathy for instances where he intentionally exacerbated the problem.

Tripp asserted at one point that the numerous stories criticizing Lumin's behavior were significant, yet Lumin did not make an effort to acknowledge any of them besides the incident involving Tripp. This pattern continues as he fails to address any other stories gaining traction, such as incidents where he allegedly stole someone's drink at a bar by sticking his hand in their cup, or getting banned from all Delaware furmeets and trying to show up anyway.

The account of Lumin's "swatting" incident lacks logical consistency. If armed police deemed him an immediate threat, it is unlikely that they would politely knock on the door and wait for him to answer. Furthermore, suggesting that the police were aware in advance that the threat was fake raises questions about their visitation in the first place.

Considering Lumin's explicit statements about dealing with the police multiple times, being known by name in the “swatting” incident, and experiencing welfare checks over online posts, it is far more likely that he may have made concerning statements online, leading a friend to request a welfare check. His selective omission of information and attempts to appear more sympathetic raise doubts about the accuracy of his narrative. Lumin's awareness of being banned from various furry meets and chats, coupled with his efforts to deflect blame onto unrelated events (eg Elon buying Twitter), indicates a potential unwillingness to change his behavior and a belief that external factors are solely responsible for the consequences of his actions.

EDIT: Looks like he also went to a furmeet recently with the new suit, because photos of it materialized on FurTrack:

All the photos are tagged with "r1nyfs", or Round 1 New York Furs. Presumably, this is one of the few events that hasn't banned him yet.

Interestingly, all of these photos were uploaded by Lumin himself. This strikes me as odd because most of the site's uploaders are photographers uploading the photos they took at events of others, not photographs of themselves. Also, considering that there were no other tags of this event or suit beforehand, I'm inclined to believe that Lumin tagged the event himself and left a link to their discord in the description.

While I don't condone weening and/or anyone visiting that discord to harass the furries in there, Lumin is setting himself up for failure by advertising the event and linking to how to contact them directly.

Remember kids! Always ask your parents for permission before looking up dog dick on the internet!

Psych wards are chronically understaffed sometimes so that likely is more so true.. also if he was there on psych they would have taken his phone, clothes and other things from him. Give him the blue gown of shame in the ER then scrubs when he got to the psych ward while they washed his clothes. Clearly he’s never been without his phone for more then a few hours.

I think it’s possible he may have thrown some fits and said threats to him and others. With all the shit he gets into who knows what it was over.
Wonder on what his parents think. He’s never mentioned a job (or I blocked it out) so there’s no way they aren’t supplying him with money to go to cons and furmeets.

This sounds like a raging sperg out sort of incident. Yelling at someone and slammed a water bottle. Also kek furry club at a college
