Castlevania Thread - Vampires, Whips, and Horror's Greatest Hits Now In One Gaming Franchise

Tch, FINE! I didn't find Order of Ecclesia that hard, it's just full of bullshit mechanics. Once you wrap your head around them and conquer them it's just average in difficulty, and kind of boring. Circle of the Moon is much harder, and finding out the cards glitch and breaking the game with that is awesome.
There, NOW it's about vidya. Asshole.

What makes it worse is that Symphony of the Night might even imply Dracula really has no choice in the matter, he cant back out or change. When he dies in that one, he is literally told by his son that his second wife's last words was to not bring harm to humanity despite what they done to her. Dracula seems legit heartbroken, asks Liza to forgive him and bids farewell to his son. I do believe he asked for her forgiveness because he cannot ever fulfill her last request because of his resurrection cycle doesnt bring Dracula back necessarily but his dark influence and desire for death and revenge upon mankind (so each incarnation is technically their own, possibly having little to no memories of the last, maybe only the negatives).

Grimoire of Souls also basically hearkens back to that. Past a point, Vlad really is just a conductor for the worst of humanity and he really would just like to stay fucking dead, but humans just keep bringing him back over and over again.

Something akin to that idea actually goes back to the original Castlevania. According to the series' creator, Hitoshi Akamatsu, the final boss's second phase is not Dracula himself, but rather "a monster born from the curse of man", and Dracula "would not exist in a peaceful age".

Man, this is the game thread.
If you want to mention a huge pile of crap, there's the multimedia one.

Games are way better than seeing shit based of games. I suggest keep sticking to them.

It is a castlevania thread tho.

Idk if doing a thread on the TV show itself is worth the hassle (unless there is one already and im retarded...well, more so).

Always thought it was a "what in the hell is this fuckness ?!!"

Wait, that's not a word? Well...it should be!

EDIT: *sigh* not even 10 minutes and they're already releasing the fuck bombs. Alucard visits an ancient Egyptian tomb, gets attacked by nigger vampires and then two huge guards with the Abbystrong bodytype. Seriously, those are ripped men's bodies (and they're much taller than Alucard) but they have female grunts.
While yes this is the game thread, one thing I really dislike on the series is how little of game designs you see. Sure theres some here and there, but 99% of time you see what a pretty big brazilian youtube describe as "Berserk Apostles".
This is Castlevania, not Dante's Inferno or Berserk, at least Lords of Shadow had the decency of just using names without even trying to say "yes guys these are the same people"

Finished up watching season 2 of Nocturne and I don't think this show will get a third one.

I'll mantain that its better than seasons 3 and 4 of the first series, but its still Reddit as shit. The meme about the show having fuck all to do with Castlevania is at its peak here.

80% of the plot is about Alucard and co. trying to stop an egyptian goddess from taking over Europe. She plans to do it by stopping the French Revolution, it's pretty nonsensical.
I know the whole Sekmeht thing started in season 1 with the "Vampire Messiah" deal, but this time we're getting an egypt flash back every other episode and the cast has to use the power of african religions to travel to the spirit world to meet gods and shit. Also more talk about slavery, the bourgeoisie, patriarchy, you know, all that Castlevania stuff.
The big bad is a ripoff of Carmilla from Vampire Hunter D and I think she looks kinda cool, but it doesn't matter since the pink haired vampire betrays her to become the surprise final boss in the last episode.

Cast wise, Anette and Maria are even more annoying this time around. In season 1 I didn't really mind them making Anette a black haitian cleric (lol) since shes kind of a nothing character in Rondo, but this time around, for some fucking reason they decided to increase her screen time and make her be tormented by african ghosts for about 6 episodes until she gets turned into a goddess for a while.

Also the dialogue is pretty shit. They keep adding "fuck" and "shit" to everything to make it sound cooler, it just comes off as childish.

Dude's a simp for the sisters.

Mulatto Monster is not even the worst original character in this. Gay monk literally just exists to get fucked in the ass by the aztec vampire.

Speaking of gay monk...

Castlevania 64 did the "full-vampire on your side because of love" thing much better with Rosa. I don't care what everyone thinks of it (most just parrot AVGN and Jontron's words), I think it's underrated and it really deserves a remake with all the content and ideas they originally had for it. But no soulslikeslop!

Considering I dont think the Haitians got any way to actually kill Richter (or the Berserk Apostle looking guy, I cant remember his name), their first Emperor gonna do the same he did with the polish soldiers and declare Richter an honorable nigga. Thats how Julius defeat Dracula in 1999: the N word pass.

Yeah, no Dracula (who as far we know, came back to life as a human and died of old age on the 1400's), no Castle (its a normal castle, just with le science based teleportation), no Death (basically just a vampire who eats souls instead of blood), no Carmilla (Circle isnt canon but she show up on Simon's Quest), no Elizabeth (So no Bloodlines).

Who else can be the antagonist? Galamoth? Braumer? I highly doubt they gonna make Olrox an actual big bad, and I also doubt they can do anything with Old Man Coyote.

At least, he did it because the devil had come to take his soul, but lets be honest, its just post noting, I dont think vampires who eat people will go to anywhere but hell, and if his soul was already set for it, when he gets killed he will be sent on an express train.

Castlevania 64 is interesting, I think its the only point on the games where God directly acts by reviving the vampire you killed, as a human, since she was innocent.

Speaking off, kinda interesting, capital G God does nothing on the series besides blessing holy water and the crosses burning that vampire on Nocturne, you even get twitter dudes arguying that God may not exist in the series by saying "err, we actually got no vision of heaven or so, as far we know, other supernatural beings got nothing to do and hell can exist without heaven"

But pagan deities can act diretly, Ogun show up to give the empowered OC (thats not Annete) and of course Sekhmet comes because I legit think they wrote themselves into a corner with how Bartley just no-sells any attack on the end of season 1.

Is there any merit to the Dominus collection version of Ecclesia over the DS version? I have the latter on my 3DS but have yet to get around to it.

It's just that (I can't believe I'm keeping track of this crap) since Olrox says he did the same thing with his former native lover in the New World and Richter's mom killed the guy, I think I know what they're trying to do for a new season (assuming they even renew it, because apparently is doing like shit!). Richter will probably find vampirized brown gay monk while travelling through the Americas with Nigganette and will go "Now you've fucking done it Olrox, NOW I'm going to keep my fucking promise and fucking kill you!"

Correction: You don't kill her (Reinhardt refuses, and even keeps her from kiiling herself because God forbids suicide), she dies protecting Reinhardt from a Grim Reaper attack, and he begs God to forgive her and take her with Him, since she's afraid of going to hell due to her condition. I think He saw her sacrifice as proof she still had humanity left and resurrected her as a reward. Imagine Leon had done with Sara what Reinhardt did with Rosa.

From the opinions I saw online (this shit isn't even worth a torrent) it seems that season 2 of Cattlevania Nogturne will be the last time the talentless hacks over at Powerhouse will touch the Castlevania IP ever. I remember the bald fag Samuel Deats begging people to watch the show in the first 2 weeks so that the netflix higherups let him have another season of self-inserting as Richter.

Even the journos don't seem to like it as much.

My man, Circle is not difficult, it's plain fucking bad, janky, and bullshit.

I know the game was made in just 3 weeks to release alongside GBA but this game is completely unfair and retarded. Almost every boss has infinite random projectiles that force you to either die like an idiot or use a shield, basically no healing items and not even healing orbs after killing bosses, and the next save room is 10 miles away after a gauntlet of enemies.

Also, no backdash and double tap to run. How are you supposed to avoid anything that way? It's just fucking painful.

Fuck Circle of the Moon.

Dont Circle is an absolute pain to 100% because theres itens with less than 1% of drop rate?
Imagine Leon had done with Sara what Reinhardt did with Rosa.
This makes me wonder, how much of Lamment happened on the series? Sure Leon did existed, but Dracula says Lisa was his only love, despite the entire reason hes Dracula being the death of his first wife. He also seem to lack the power of the Dark Lord as a vessel to Chaos he got with the 2 magic stones.

Good thing the original game is just so lacking on lore to expand that we wont see them somehow ruining Simon Belmont

That's why the first thing you learn is how to do the cards glitch :smug:

Don't give them ideas, remember they have Juste there and he's Simon's grandson. Although surprisingly, despite some reddit moments, he was the least butchered character now. I guess they had to overcompensate for how dirty they did him in the first season.
Simon killed Dracula, the rest is fanfic
And when Dracula tried to slowly kill him with a curse, he collected all his remains to revive him and kill him again. Gigachad.

I recently skimmed through Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2, and like many of you, I recoil at the politically correct shenanigans.

It's almost unreal how much faggotry they've managed to inject into the lore of Castlevania. I reckon the Egyptians won't be pleased to once again hear the mewling sounds of western, white Karens bitching about how the Egyptians of old were totally-super-black, for example.

Other than that, I lament that they've injected this series with so much DEI. The action scenes are amazing, for example, and if it weren't for the undertones of the political Current Year, the TV-series would have excelled on these action-scenes alone. The way they've created the scenes with the whip used by the Belmont's is especially impressive. I can only surmise that it takes some serious talent to animate these sorts of fighting-scenes.

Since season 1, I've had much trouble with the dialogue, though. The word "fuck" is so persistent that it leaves one almost speechless. It's as if the people responsible for these instalments of the animation believe that using the word "fuck" is indicative of "maturity" or something. It's incredibly grating.

Speaking of remembering, I find funny how Christopher isn't in the Greatest Five attack on Portrait, even through he beat Dracula twice, while Juste didn't. Don't think it's the lack of sprite since Leon got one made for the game
