I can't even pretend to know. All the game data is in .json files, but I have no clue what language is being used. The data files open up fine in Notepad++, so it's readily editable, at least. What's it written in? Surely could just write a function that checks for the gay variables by name and then removes them? That way you just run it when it updates and it slices them out.
I'm probably too retarded for forking; I barely know a damn thing about the basics of programming, much less forking something off of a github and keeping up with it/forcing it to retain whatever garbage I crowbar in. My thought was to make it generate a different flag from one of the other variants (country or state), rather than cut them out entirely in case that breaks my saves. If you’re trying to remove certain items (like flags or cosmetic variants), you can fork the repo and edit the item data. You could redirect image or asset references to blank or alternate textures and simply rename the flags still generate but as different kinds of flags with different names and icons while continually pulling upstream updates.
I, however, choose to use pride flags as tinder for house fires.
Somehow, I haven't gotten a house to properly catch fire yet. I wonder if TLG changed the propagation mechanics or something? I know it made fires require some kind of tinder item to catch, but the fucking thing won't catch no matter how many 2x2 piles of couches I make in the living room.
