At this point, while I admit they're cute when they feel like it. I'm not a big fan of cats now.

Is it a bad time to call you a "soon-to-be Crazy Cat Guy", in this case?

As for me, dogs slightly outweigh cats in the end because although both are always there to be cute and cuddly for you, dogs share emotional bonds more with their owners (like "greeting" you and cheering you up if you've had a particularly rough day). They can also be trained over time to behave properly (if you're not too rough on the poor things).

On the other hand, cats tend to jump all over the place no matter what the circumstances are (maybe unless you get a scratch post?). And my mom's allergic to them.

Oh I'm well past the point of both at this point. From experience, the cats never want to scratch at their post. They'll scratch at everything- the carpet, the wall, the bathtub, your leg, themselves- except the damned post.

And @VLAD, in the province I live in, it's not how it works. You have to pay full price unless you bring in more than one cat, and even then it still don't come cheap.

That makes sense. New York City has an enormous population of stray cats, so we'll take almost any measure we can to control the cat population. Pitbulls are also a specific breed of dog we have to keep in check - if you take one in to the ASPCA for a clipping, it's completely free of charge. No questions asked.
 
I love both, but my dog will always be there for me when my cats are being snarky.

I've got an old rabbit that'll sit still when she's being pet and I wouldn't trade her for either -- too squirmy.
 
I love both.
Most big cats however are better than most wild dogs. Wolves are the only wild canine I like.

Nobles and rulers in the Mughal Empire have used Cheetahs to hunt game. In the exotic animal market, they are actually considered to be the least aggressive wild cat species, and this is the reason why they are so popular with certain people in the Arabian Gulf countries, Lions, Tigers and Leopards ranking below them. Personally though, I would rather own a big cat sanctuary rather than keep them as pets. It's more ethical that way.
 
I have four dogs and four cats and they're all very swell. It's hard to pick one species over the other since they each have their pros and cons. (:_(
 
I personally prefer dogs myself. Although cats are nice too.
 
Long live the love of dogs. No one would care this much for a pet, but a dog owner.
