Hi. Long time lurker and CWCkipedia reader, first time poster.

My biggest concern has always been, and always will be, the Chandler family pets. IMO the best thing that could happen to those animals is to be fostered and/or adopted by people who won't neglect them. Given the extenuating circumstances, it seems likely that the hotel they're staying in would let Chris and Barb keep their pets in the room for at least the first night or two, but once they realize NONE of the animals are properly house trained? Probably not so much.

The Madison-Greene Humane Society seems to be the closest shelter, ~10 miles from 14BC.

Say what you will about Chris and Barb, but Snoopy, Clover, Lucy, and Scamper(s) & Kitty (if they're alive) deserve better than this. For many obvious reasons, I have no plans to take any action about this unless mods think something should be done, but the pets' safety is weighing heavily on my mind.

I've been watching a lot of Animal Hoarders lately, ugh.

Well, we know that state farm is setting them up a hotel, however no info on where the animals will be staying. Most hotels don't accept animals. So a shelter is likely the best guess, or they put them off to some neighbor without mentioning they aren't housetrained....

It sounds like some of the cats were essentially free range, outdoor cats, so it's possible they're still just wandering the neighborhood at this point.

Same here!

I think that usually when this kind of thing happens, pets are kept in a kennel at a vet's office or petsitting service. The company might be paying for that.

Has Chris ever mentioned taking them to a vet? The county almost certainly requires the animals to get rabies vaccines, but who knows if they're up to date with that

I share your sentiments; it honestly pisses me off that Clover and Snoopy had to fall into the incapable hands of the Chandlers. They're probably going to get saddled onto a neighbor for the time being, but I do wish a shelter would take all of them.

So they potentially lost everything and you want to take their pets too? Just let them get their life back together then you can go on your quest to save the dogs. Are their living conditions deplorable? Yes. Is now the time to kick Chris while he's down? No.

The welfare and safety of the animals are more important than Chris' feelings.

The only time I recall ever hearing about the Chandlers taking any of their animals to the vets was when they had to put patti down. Other than that, no. And just because the county requires that the animals be kept up to date on their shots doesn't mean the Chandlers did that. After all, GAS IS EXPENSIVE and the time spent running to the vet's could be used to pick up q-sands or going to goodwill for more hoard fuel.

Oh, and before you ask, no, Chris has never walked his dogs or interacted with them outside of him maybe giving them an occasional 'bally-scratch' on their heads.

So you're OK with the dogs living in squalor, and almost fucking BURNING TO DEATH, just so Chris' feelings don't get hurt? That's some asspatting right there. Those dogs deserve better.

What really concerns me is whether or not the two dogs have been neutered. Can you imagine newborn puppies trying to survive in these circumstances?

If they were it was probably before the Chandlers adopted them. VET BILLS ARE EXPENSIVE!

Yeah, that's the only hope, that the breeder neutered them. But considering they were likely bought from an irresponsible backyard breeder...

Considering he very likely got them from a backyard breeder, I'd say that them being neutered is very unlikely. Of course there's always a very slim chance that Fatty and Barb did get them fixed and Chris just didn't say anything about it, I mean really why would he, because they knew that a bunch of unwanted puppies would be a major drain on their q-sand and goodwill funds. But I really doubt that.

If the puppies weren't fixed, they'd be waist deep in puppies by now.

I'd hate to think about the Chandlers dealing with dogs or cats in heat.

I'm a long-time Cwcki follower and still have no fucking clue what a "q-sand" is. Please fill me in?

It's a quarter of a mcchicken sandwich. Look it up on the cwcki sometime for the longest, most autistic story ever.
