The Deep Thoughts sub-forum has the unofficial name "Shallow Thoughts" amongst forum regulars due to how threads there have a tendency to descend into circle-jerks or flame wars. After the Islam fiasco I think the sub-forum name should officially adopt the name since right now its name is akin to a closeted flaming fag that everyone knows is a fag even before they come out.

I'm butthurt that my thread on how exactly Muhammad fucked pigs during the canonical stage of his life where all he did was fuck pigs all the time got moved to Spergatory.

So I can't really comment objectively.

Are there actually people on this site who do not realize that when Muhammad was not fucking children, like Aisha, he was also fucking pigs?

This worries me.

And I'm buttmad about it.

We even have an SJW mod who closed a thread where our lolpig leader nool himself was daring to question Islamic supremacy.

THAT REALLY HAPPENED.

I'm afraid.

Mooslims are invading our safe space. How can we fight back?

I am sorry for your loss.

So I can't really comment objectively.

That's ok.

As it should.

And I'm buttmad about it.

Being headmad is a better state of mad.

THAT REALLY HAPPENED.

I believe you.

I'm afraid.

Have a Valium.

Mooslims are invading our safe space. How can we fight back?

By changing the sub-forum name "Deep Thoughts" to "Shallow Thoughts".

tbh it should be changed to "A bunch of rejected people on the internet argue about shit nobody cares about 5K"

How about discussing the future of Deep Thoughts

I'm still trying to figure out why a shithole autism magnet like Deep Thoughts is tethered to the somewhat useful Events & News by the retarded, unevenly-enforced "shallow thoughts" rule.

Back in the day, before autists did whatever they wanted, our deep thoughts board was to be good.

Unban dynastia and cat

The Islam thread was actually going somewhere interesting and then all involved parties (including you and sheikhspeare) started collectively chimping out

If it was any other member than Null we would of deleted the replies very, very quickly.

Yeah any thread is automatically over once Null's ED article comes up but people were already getting pretty riled up when someone bothered challenging this hugbox's views

Islam is the religion is rape and murder. There's a reason Trump is winning. Nobody wants sand niggers like that guy in our country. He can apologize and lie for his book all he wants. If you trust what he says you're an idiot. I'm allowed to give my opinion. He's the one that couldn't handle it and resorted to attacking me because he had nothing else to say.

lol you sound like a closeted muslim faggot.

if you're going to flatly disregard people's opinions because they're ideologically incorrect what's even the point of pretending to take the subforum seriously though

this is the sort of talk that creates hugboxes like tumblr

admit it everyone

deep thoughts is ISIS incarnate

We deleted the personal attacks and temp locked the thread. I'm not sure what else we could have done.

The thing about deep thoughts is ultimately while we can delete the poorer posts we cannot force people to post interesting or inciteful content and so ultimately it is only as good as the community makes it.

I do think the sub has gradually improved- 6 months ago it was full of Autism, Circumcision and Nigger threads. Those kind of threads are no longer common and there have been a few interesting threads recently- the lost N Korea thread, a forum culture thread and the hoarding thread spring to mind.

The shallow thoughts bans seem to really rile people up, but I think to get one you have to push fairly hard- me and val can't issue them so your posts have to attract the attention of the purples or greens. Why people get so annoyed at having their shitposting limited is vaguely baffling and slightly embarrassing.

EN has improved much more largely because it is more reliant on outside stories than user generated content.

Nuke it. Burn it to the ground. It makes the Entersphere look good.

You've worked a lot to make this horrible idea work. It's certainly better than when you started, but that's not saying much.

Community Watch is even worse, so it's not like I can even claim winning in some kind of competition.

Also it took some real balls to lock the thread where Null was personally chimping out.

I loved seeing that.

I think this is a pretty good analysis of the situation. There are good threads, it's the people that are the problem. I've seen this a ton of places; it is nearly impossible to have an objectively-motivated discussion about controversial issues with comparative strangers over the internet. I manage it with quite a reasonably sized group of friends over places like Skype largely because our pre-existing relationships enable us to contextualize what each-other is saying. If you only know somebody by their screen name and their tendency to post funny memes in lolcow threads, seeing them suddenly vent forth about anarcho-socialism or whatever can be really jarring. The views in themselves are not extremist, but in the context of our interactions with them, the 'extremism' is all we get. I could write a six-paragraph rant about certain people in my community that I think are thoroughly unsavory individuals, but the act of writing those paragraphs doesn't necessarily mean I spit on the ground to ward off evil after every real-life interaction with them. These are my personal experiences as somebody who loves a good debate, but has seem them sabotaged time and again by issues like this.
