Notch has stated this, but IIRC Jeb/Current Mojang and Notch/Original Mojang have two different versions of the same company much like Atari and handle Minecraft with some differences between Word of Notch canon and Word of Jeb canon.
I like to think of them as leaves. Something about explosive lawn litter is amusing.
The nipples especially bug me with some of them when horses don't have belly nipples like a dog or cat (or chest ones either, for that matter) and platypi don't even have nipples (they secrete milk through their skin, along with their other weird 'relative', the echidna). I've seen it more common than not for them to have 50+ characters, sometimes into the hundreds. Some of that comes from the adoptables obsession, but they'll still have at least some form of character bio on each page. I usually see the type stalking around Freebie Art areas and dropping their entire library on the poor artist.
Artists who put belly nipples on every character confuse me, especially when they go on entire rants about how zoophilia is wrong.
I get the feeling that the reason why the artist, whose work I posted, does it, is to highlight how trans their characters are. One of their creepers, the one with the scarf and hat and busy colors, also has belly nips but uses he/him pronouns.
as a warrior cats fag and growing up with the series, the cats don't really have official designs. even in illustrated media, there's often deviations from book to book. so it's common for artists within the fandom to make their own designs for the cats. some can be really good but it often leaves me confused because some interpretations are so wildly different from others that i couldn't tell it's the same character that two artists are drawing.
I will never forget being a 12 year old getting dogpiled by 16-18 year olds for drawing that collar blue. I'll catch a glimpse of the fandom every now and then and I can safely say it is still one of the most toxic I've ever seen, and it usually comes from the older fans.
My favorite warrior cat experience was watching two of them pretend to hump each other in cat form while running around in the middle of nowhere in World of Warcraft. One was laying down and the other one was spamming the sit key for maximum thrust.
Women are way more likely to be in the adoptables/obsessive character creation circles compared to men, so that's why you see FTM more.
