I only remember Xena from watching a weird documentary about fans of the show, talking about how the creators were so confused at first about it becoming a hit with lesbians, to the point that it was their majority fanbase.

I only remember Xena from watching a weird documentary about fans of the show, talking about how the creators were so confused at first about it becoming a hit with lesbians, to the point that it was their majority fanbase.

It was a honestly a pretty good show from what I remember. The character was from the Hercules show and when they wanted to do a Hercules spinoff they picked Xena because she was pretty popular from her limited appearances.

The lesbian thing came from Xena Warrior Princess which revolved around Xena and her traveling companion Gabrielle wandering the world together fighting evil and slowly becoming closer to each other. The show never said it straight out but it was implied they were lovers, although I was too young to have picked up on any of that.
