No sympathy for this lanky weirdo, but I do feel for any Youtuber who’s even somewhat popular, eventually someone will ask you your stance on trans rights (whether it’s an outright question or people continually spamming “SAY TRANS RIGHTS” in your Twitch chat). Once that happens you can either go left, right, or try to fence-sit, and in any case you’ll be splitting your fanbase and probably losing a large chunk of them…

This is why I don't understand how his videos still get millions of views. Do people just use him as shorthand for the already-lazy habit of just deciding you have Reddit's opinion on any given topic (without thinking about it for yourself at all)?

Anyone else get the sense that Charlie realised what he is saying sounds crazy, but fears ostracisation and cancellation more? If you look at how stressed he was after the debate when he is ranting about 'hyperbole' just before he ends the stream, he doesn't seem like wants to say that kids chopping their dick off is okay, and seems really uncomfortable with the fact he is saying it. Weird to watch

He actually sounds like he's having a mental breakdown. He knows, as all reasonable people do, that the position he's being forced to defend is indefensible. But his self-interest and the sort of apolitical deference-by-default that the mainstream take gets is forcing him to go against the obvious, reasonable position and play the devil's advocate for child abuse. Its rare to hear cognitive dissonance so clear, genuine, undiluted and lacking in self-awareness like that, really remarkable stuff.

The true measure of Charlie's character will be what he does now. Will he bend down and suck the girldick or will he call a spade a spade?

He was unbearable back then with his hamfisted "Big Chungus" tier internet culture jokes and monotone voice, i have always described him as human Ambien. I have no idea how he got so big in the past 5 years, it is truly a modern marvel. All he does is spout milquetoast takes in his grating voice, his content is the pure embodiment of "low energy".. he's just a boring fuck. And even worse than that, he is a fake weeb.
