Personally I find these sorts of lolcows that the YouTube lolcow commentary sphere seems obsessed with (WOTS, Cyraxx, Nova, White Bowser, etc) to be aggressively uninteresting but if you’re a fan and they don’t have a threat you’re more than welcome to make one yourself and share the love.

The problem with age of consent debates, is there are truly no honest arguments. I'm not saying that the people who get into these arguments are dishonest with their beliefs, but they're dishonest with their arguments. The one time I got roped into this type of retardation, I said no, kids shouldn't be allowed to make permanent life-changing alterations from such a young age. The person then tried to frame it as an argument of consent and adulthood by screaming about some states that still let under 18s marry; some requiring adult confirmation or other requirements. To which I said we're not talking about that shit, but if we were and my position hadn't changed, then yes, change those laws too; the person was so fucking perplexed I was willing to say that if you want an age of consent and adulthood, then it should be brought up to some sort of baseline. But they then tried to twist it into "So you agree with me." No I don't agree with you, kids shouldn't be allowed to chemically castrate themselves; and if you want to argue age and consent, then feel free to bring all those age related laws up to date to at least be consistent with your bullshit. They're incapable of understanding context or that maybe shit isn't so black and white, and thus they argue that you're either at 0% or 100% and there is no inbetween; which is why I say their arguments are dishonest. They don't want solutions, they want to be angry.
