Hypothetically, maybe try giving the child to a traditional couple before trying something different just because you think equality is more important than anything else observable from human history. Also it's obvious he paid some desperate woman to carry and deliver this child into his arms, it wasn't a poor ward of the state.

Again, even if I took the Literalist approach to the Old Testament, I would not presume myself capable of the same judgment as God. It is not about determining if it is right or wrong, judgment is determining appropriate punishment. We, as humans, are not capable of applying divine punishment. It is not our position to do so.
