Thank fucking god honestly. I know this won’t get them to touch grass (nothing will), but I stopped holding out hope for people like this long ago. If you’re so adverse to human nuance that you rely on AI to tell you that your every flaw is perfection and you are actually a chad alpha male who deserves all the Reddit points, what you actually deserve it to suffer.

Perplexity is way better for search engine and research replacement. Its basically a wrapper that uses their own AI to fact check GPT and provide sources.

You know on a serious note these people found a vice that has never existed before and their are simply no moral/ethical/physical guiderails. Their are so many new things happening in society at such a rate that the world really is just a wild constant frontier that no one has seen before. You need discipline and guidance to handle this and not many people get that. The way technology makes people lonely and isolated is what you saw with people with waifu pillows but now you got something that's even more in depth and it plays to their weaknesses even harder than before and its game over.

Reminder that all of these people can vote and it counts the same as yours. They also drive on our roads, work in service positions like restaurants and stores, and even teach your kids.

Voting is the pertinent one since that means they can impact AI legislation and once they get one shot by an AI model, what way are they going to vote?

TBH, I never really understood the difference enough to care. At most, I think 5 can go into more detail about what can be written up to build on an entry.

* subliminal advertising was banned for ethical concerns in the 50s in some countries due to outrage and before it could be banned anywhere else most companies agreed to have nothing to do with it due to ethical concerns - if you guessed right, then you guessed no one gives a shit about ethical concerns anymore since Mark Zuckerberg delivered Meta, Facebook and Instagram to our planet.

There is no way this won't be weaponized and that is the reason why OpenAI can't be trusted. It's only a matter of time until a mass shooting, terrorist attack or significant political action happens caused by some ideology influenced by AI or about AI (and I'm not counting someone asking how to make a bomb as part of that)

I mean, if you're talking about the body pillow demographic this is just the baby steps, we'll ((eventually)) have gynoid catgirlfriends with AI brains. That's probably at least a decade maybe two away but a lot of people are going to be choosing the "easy way" than trying to date. I don't know what that actually does to the dating scene, make women more desperate seems unlikely, they'll just find the confident people. I don't think the incels who would have dated their body pillows would have suddenly come to Stacy if she cared about him.
 
Whilst I have empathy with people who are genuinely lonely and need somebody to help them out, a lot of these people are just beyond worth giving a damn about.

I've had depression and there have been times when I've been close to ending it - I didn't go to a chat GPT and go 'waaah muh feelins'. I sorted myself out and realised the world isn't going to change nor give a fuck if I take my life, therefore that's good enough reason to carry on - never give in, be stubborn and stoic if needs be and do it for those in your life who matter.

'I bet these critics would never be friends' - a real friend will tell you to man the fuck up when needed, but that's not want these cry babies want... they want to be told how perfect they are.

It reminds me of somebody who was a friend before he turned pompous and arrogant - now his defence is 'oh well, I don't believe you and I'm always right'. Even if he gets something wrong it's 'no, I'm right, I didn't understand what was being said and if I don't know then I can't be wrong for not knowing.'

I don't like to see most people suffer, but would these whingy babies like to help me out with assisting an elderly neighbour of mine:

* She has chronic knee problems.
* She has had breast cancer and now has to deal with lumps in and around her right breast.
* Her family are miles away and never speak with her.
* She cries for hours on end (real mental health issues, not imagined).
* Her husband was abused to death in a hospital and she has a fear of going to one.
* She will pee/poo at the drop of a hat.
* As her house is in trust to a charity (no next of kin) Doctors are reluctant to go out to help her.
* She falls down frequently and without her 'grabber' would lie on the floor for days if not checked on.
* The local Hospital won't see her as she won't go into a Home.

I am sure that these 'holiest of holy' whiners would love to be a 'goody person' in the real world?

This is what no one wants to admit.

Think of how utterly shit the social life of the average person is. Now think of how many of them are terminally-online, and phone-addicted retards. Now think of how many of them have children.

Now imagine these emotionally neglected, under socialized, and let's face it, probably neurodivergent, children now have something that will pay attention to them forever, will let them sperg about their special interests forever while also knowing a lot about it, too, and being able to converse back about it with them.

Furthermore, it also seemingly actually likes them for who they are, never gets mad them regardless of how they act, constantly praises them, and on top of everything else, is also completely free. How do you think these kids are gonna turn out?

Simply put, as sad, and scary as this is, people getting attached to AI not only makes sense, but it's also not going to go away anytime soon. It's only going to get worse because like it, or not, there's an entire generation of them coming.

If you can't buy a gun due to an involantary hold, you shouldn't be allowed online. God only knows how these people are being stimulated.

There are multiple competing selection pressures. Maybe those who can just turn the fucking thing off, laugh about it and go outdoors inherit the earth.
