A Reminder: a similar event happened in Portland back in 2017. It lasted 5 weeks and the city had to foot the bill for it. It was a biohazard site afterwards for a bit.

The Mayor of Portland was a bit of a snake about the whole thing, he waited until pressure from local businesses and citizens to get rid of it had built up, that he was covered politically from all directions. I think he even got ICE to chip in for the cleanup.

The Occupy protests in London were rife with violence and sexual assaults. At the time The UK Socialist Workers Party were still a thing, and their policy of no cooperation with police or the media kept everything under wraps.

That protest had a lot going for it, including the fact that it was initially facilitated by the Church of England (who let it use their property), had some significant financial backers, favorable coverage from the media. Then they fucked it up, by alternating between choosing to exercise absolutely no control over their supporters, to enacting policies aimed at diversity and inclusion, which seemed to mainly sideline anybody with a hint of rationality. Replacing them either with SWP hacks or just opportunists who wanted a platform.

Anyway if Seattle has any sense they'll let them stew in it for a couple of weeks, let the city have a taste of what happens if things get too out of hand.

They have absolutely no idea how much land it takes to feed a city. Even with modern agriculture, its huge. Also, good luck waiting for the couple of months. Also what crops are you going to grow? How are you going to irrigate it?

Also, its city soil. The amount of toxins and pollutants in it are tremendous. That will all be absorbed by vegetables. Also what are you going to do for protein? I doubt the local cholos will lend you their chickens for their cock fighting.

The area is going to be a mess of rape and murder within the day. The 'farmland' is going to be seized by gangs and people with guns. I'd actually like to point out no commune in the US has ever succeeded. The Amish are the exception because they're not really a commune, they're a society with a strict and rigid belief system united under religion. Its the only one that comes to mind that's succeeded. Maybe if you count Hasidics. But those are both based on VERY strict religious coda. There's not much wiggle room there over any argument.

The only way these things succeed are extremely strict religious ideology. I can think of no secular commune that has ever worked for any period of time.
