I saw a number of around 3000 people being in the area. I'm not sure what that number constitutes (people who just hang out there, people who actively stay there 24/7, people who lived in the area and have to put up with it?)

Heres some chilling video of iths morning shootings in CHOP, where a 14 year old was critically injured and a man died that people have been posting photos of earlier in the thread.


The big window in the video starts and there's about a minute of freaked our CHOPpers looking for the suspected vehicle shooters and saying "eyes up!" and over. At around 35 seconds in, you can hear squealing tires, and the squealing gets louder. In the upper left at 1min the vehicle's headlights come into view and shooting starts. The vehicle comes to a stop, and then appears at 1:10 to rev its engine and try to go which is probably why reports say it tried to ram the barricades - that's at 1:15. It was probably trying to escape or something and thats why it ended up perpendicular, but ramming baricades probably wasn't the initial intention. It didn't really ram the barricades so much as sideswipe them.

There's lots of gunshots and some shouting, "I got two dead" and even some laughing, and then at 1:50 the engine revs again and someone says "oh your not dead!". At 1:57 the same voice shouts "yo you want to get pistol whipped?" and then at 2:09 there's a single shot, sounds like from a sidearm.

That's an execution.

AFAIK the names haven't been released and one is a minor so it may not be released (if the kid survives, the adult was killed).
Yes they were joggers
No one seems to really have an idea as far as I can tell some think it was gang/drug related

No names but the driver, who didn't survive, was 16 and the passenger 14
" UPDATE: 16-year-old killed in CHOP-area shooting this morning. 14-year-old still receiving treatment at Harborview for gunshot injuries."

Previous to the times of chaz and dave; how many people would have been shot/knifed/chopped into firewood and then died/been seriously wounded in this capitol hill area, in the same timeframe?

Is it the same number or none? is it white cops on black? black on black? etc

From far away it looks like if you value your black life you would not go anywhere near this black lives matter area. The irony is strong here.

Bent plate is interesting. Youd think if it were your vehicle and you were trying to protect your identity youd just take the plate off, not fuck it up by bending. Now, if you were someone who *didnt* own the vehicle, but wanted to make the plate superficially unreadable in short order with no tools on hand....

Guess we'll have to wait to find out if the Jeep was stolen or if this was an in-CHOP "seCUriTy meAsURe."

Not many. There is crime, but its mostly property crime, break ins, and drunks fighting after closing time.

I think this vid gives a good overview of what happened.
It starts with some crazy woman saying ANY SUV THAT COMES NEAR US YOU NEED TO SHOOT THEM SHOOT ALL THE SUVS IT COULD BE ALL OF THEM etc etc
At 0: 45 you hear screaming tires and at around 1:00 the jeep crashes and gunshots start.
I marked the place where the jeep crashes. On the pic the crash already occurred.

Rumor is that there was a shootout before with another group. That's why the crazy woman yells to shoot any suv that comes near.
14 and 16-year old kids stole a jeep and decided to do some joyriding at CHAZ/CHOP, got mixed up for being the wrong guys, were even unarmed and got
shot from different sides. The 16 year old driver got executed with a bullet in the head, 14 year old also was attacked with an axe (edit) ice axe.
CHAZ/CHOP destroyed/tampered evidence to hide this. It's not confirmed yet.
And what did the other SUV do that they decided to shoot at any other SUV?

Back when I lived in the area, it never occurred to me I might need to worry about getting shot by communist vigilantes.
