The Blu Dot showroom and the Neko cat cafe also suffered damage during the riot involving around 100 people who marched from Cal Anderson starting around 10 PM.
I hope none of the cats were actually there, I can't find any posts from the business on if any animals wereharmed peacefully protested. Those poor things.

The website also says they host only kitties with feline leukemia, so not only are they a cat cafe, they're a cat cafe that is specifically for hard-to-adopt cats.

Choice clown world bit - the article cites a tweet from a KIRO7 reporter that quotes fatal victim Summer Taylor's mom as blaming this not on Kelete but on law enforcement agencies for not keeping them safe.
GoFundMe for Diaz Love is up to 89k and a second one is up to 13k.
Beneficiary for Summer Taylor's GoFundMe has been changed to their family member Matthew and is up to 79k.
Kelete is stillbeing held on 1.2 million bail, probably in the same jail that King County Exec Dow Constantine wants to shut down. I think Constantine usually does a capable job as KC exec but he really seems to be flipflopping and being reactionary on this jail thing. He just opened the youth jail a year or two ago and now is planning on closing both the new youth jail and Seattle jail, but doesnt have a solution yet for what to do with people arrested.
When pressed on the issue, Constantine said he believed electronic monitoring could remain a useful alternative to detention, but that King County's solutions to these issues would need to come from its community.
I guess it doesn't matter much since with the SPD defunded they wont be making any arrests or solving any crimes anyway. I mostly blame the "victims" who played stupid games and won stupid prizes but she has a point that if you let a bunch of mentally defective tards mill around in the middle of the highway instead of doing your fucking job and keeping it clear, there's a very high chance of said tards getting killed.

Also there's another issue here, and that's that the cops haven't just failed to respond, the mayor in Seattle, for instance, actually materially assisted them in creating the dangerous situation by literally giving them barricades to set up. The authorities don't have to do shit to save you (at least not as a constitutional right although a state could pass a law requiring it). But they can't deliberately create hazards.

Because coof keeps rising in WA and in Seattle governor Inslee is adding back restrictions, especially for restaurants and bars. Most of these dorks smashing stuff and CHAZzing that lived in the area probably already were laid off from their coop-coffee shop barista or their hipster bartender jobs, and this will continue the trend. Capitol Hill Blog even reported on it last week - short summary: 1 in 5 people in Capitol Hill (hipsters and dangerhairs) and 1 in 4 people in the Central District (Blacks and gentrifiers) was/is unemployed, leaving them bored and angry and with plenty of time to march around Broadway and wreck cat cafes and Gaybucks. The people remaining employed are probably all the condo owners and renters in the new high rise apartments, and they must all feel like theyre under some sort of Leningrad siege.

Nobody is working and they are all yelling at cops and smashing shit and CHAZzing and the City Council has rallied behind a violent socialist and went absolutely fucking nuts and passed that tax on Monday essentially telling all successful businesses to leave and they are committed to getting rid of the police and the coof is rising like crazy the whole timein the background but "not because of the daily shouting protests!" and how is this city not going to be Escape From New York? Seriously kiwis I don't know what the fuck happened to this place and how this wont slowly descend into complete fuckery and madness oh wait we got a new NHL team name. Go krakens!

And dont forget that lawsuit is in the wake of the City Council Monday spending the whole 86million dollar emergency fund. But dont worry because theyll get more money from the insane payroll tax and defunindg the police. Also, there's the group lawsuit against the city pending from the business affected by CHAZ. I'd be kind of torn on that because fuck Starcucks, they deserve to be smashed up just because of their coffee, but the cats thing is completely unacceptable.

The reason they're targeting Starbucks is because Starbucks gave 10k to the Seattle Police Foundation last year. (Link to Seattle-PI careful theres lots of ads and autoplay.) The Gaurdian tried to make a hit list of companies that protestors can get mad at about donating to police organizations, including Amazon and Microsoft and Starbucks.
Seattle-based Starbucks is an active donor to the Seattle police foundation and has a representative on its board, according to the report. The Starbucks Foundations, the retailer’s non-profit arm, also recently donated $25,000 to the NYC police foundation.
Also they're smashing Starbucks because its there and corporate and why not, they really showed those police again.
Of course each one of these assholes will go work for Starbucks when they need a job because where else are you going to health insurance (even if youre just part time) and have no skills in a terrible economy? Plenty of people just get a part time job at starbucs for a few months when they need a prescription or haven't seen a doctor in a while or something or if they get laid off and have kids because giving insurance to as many wrkers as possible was one of old CEO Howard Schultz's personal projects.
