I hate food purists. Imagine not trying all of those delicious variations bc some old Italian woman wouldn't approve.
Hey, when you're trying to get in her good graces, you try your damnest to oblige.

Anyway...

The Australian pub classic variant of the Chicken Parma really is amazing. Best chicken meal for sure.
Just looking at images of it makes me hungry:

The Aussies had the right idea with their chicken parm meal. Crispy chicken with sauce and cheese on top with fries, mwah.

Noodles or sandwich form work for me.

every parma i've ever had always did.
Every pub I have been to also sells a version without ham, but that's just called a "Chicken Schnitzel" and treated as its own thing.

Its a really nice hearty meal.
Perfect country town pub meal, there is a reason its a classic.

Here's another question for the Australians.

When I make one, it takes about 35 minutes from when I start to pound the fillet flat to when I serve it on the plate.

When you order one in the pub, does it take this long? How long does it take for them to serve it to you?

It is usually much faster for me, I would say somewhere around 10-20 minutes, depending on the pub. But 30 minutes would typically only happen right at opening time or if it was really busy in my experience.
Not quite sure what method they use but I wouldn't be surprised if they cooked a few in advance because they are a very popular dish.

I imagine they probably at least pound them out in advance so they're ready for the breading, and the oil would already be hot and ready to go.

Thank you for your answer!

I'm planning to cook some this weekend. Hopefully it will be a hit.

Bong takeaway version. It's an affront to health, nutrition and possibly even god. but it's damn good after a couple pints.
