China's TikTok messing with political content

So, I was binging Jim's videos and heard him and Josh talk about this, and I wanted to bring it up because it's a damn weird coincidence that it's happened on my account.

I'm an E-girl and Cosplayer and a lot of my cosplays end up getting tagged with country names. I'm sure you guys can guess that I'm cosplaying from one or the other cringy fandom. 😬

Anyways, this isnt statistics or facts since I only have my one account, but this is what I've noticed.

TikTok moderates content with a bot only, and there is no way to apply for a mod to manually review it. The bot scans for weapons and nudity in the video.

Tagging "fake weapon" or "weapon prop" is supposed to stop the tag because TikTok's TOS is supposed to only block actual weapons under some ambiguous endangerment policy, but I've noticed it mysteriously doesn't work sometimes. Especially with posts tagged "Russia" or "America".

I posted two videos as a "sexy Soviet spy" and labled them both "fake gun" in the same exact way. They both did fine but one blew up really fast, then suddenly it was taken down for "weapons" despite being tagged the SAME EXACT WAY. The other one is still up but only has 200 likes, which is weird for one of my videos. I'm about to cosplay some Germany related stuff. Wish me luck! If something happens, I'll keep you all posted.

Also I've noticed that it will shadow ban videos. None of mine as far as I can tell have been shadow banned for political reasons, but they have for "nudity" that's not actually nudity. Just picked up by the bot as such.

I cosplay lola bunny, and as you can guess that cosplay shows a lot of skin. On some of those videos it's fine, on others I dont get a single view. View count is zero. Considering the amount of followers on my account, that's pretty much impossible. Even if no one looks up the tags, people scroll through their follow feed and my account. So either people who go to my account are having the video hidden from them, or people are watching it but tiktok is just showing "0" to smother my metrics. Either way, they're willing to do this for videos that they dont block for nudity, meaning they're capable of doing it to political content.

Again, this is only one account. It could be coincidences and the like. Sorry for no photos of my account, but I'd rather not have kiwi farm users find it knowing I cosplay Lola. Shes a definate creep magnet 😂 if you want proof I'm a girl at least, I'll post this. Feel free to reverse image search!

Have any other TikTok users noticed this? Anyone have predictions on whether china is going to push sanctioned political content to the kids on it? Especially with the election season coming up. I personally think that china could use to to push or smother the political opinions of american politicians that are for or agaisnt china.

The fuck are you talking about? China has been doing that for years now, how is this new to you? Plus, the developers are chinks, of fucking course they are gonna crank down on anything "too american" or that disagrees with the party policy.

See I think this is just TikTok trying to keep law enforcement agencies off their backs because of all the mass shooter hysteria and all the sexualised minors on the platform

Because if China had something against guns and semi nudity I don't know how mobile shit like Girl's Frontline and Azur Lane has escaped the Chinese censors for years

I think it's not in their national interest to completely ban "anime waifu" type material off their domestic media market. After all, with their skewed male:female population ratio, they have to get the "spare" men hooked on waifu shit if they don't want them to turn full incel mass murderer type.

Sure, but even barring that, it's not like the Chinese government has a hate boner for guns and bare skin.
But what a chinese company does hate is unnecessary attention from the US government because your platform contains naughty content
